What is your breaking point in media? What makes you stop watching/reading/playing/listening? Do you stop a movie after a brutal rape scene or a graphic torture scene? What makes you say, "I'm done, I'm not watching any more."?

Sucking. If something sucks I will stop watching it. I also am very easily terrified, so any and all horror technically makes me want to go away, but sometimes I can fight it. Otherwise, not much. I haven't gone out of my way to view stuff that could disgust me, but bad taste certainly wouldn't stop me.

Edit- So far my greatest moment of ninja-ing.

If anything makes me feel physically unwell, or upset, I will get up unless the story is pretty amazing.

I outright don't watch anything that is obviously going for shocks with how distressing it is.

I can tolerate and appreciate the reasons for a rape scene. Theres been a few fantasy books ive read though where rapes keep happening over and over with too much regularity, where it starts to feel exploitative. I gave up a couple of books like that.

Pretty much that. Lots of things that might seem "breaking point" worthy probably work in some contexts. But things that suck work in no context whatsoever!

I don't think I've ever seen a scene that was too much to handle, but I'd say my breaking point is simply when something stops being interesting or entertaining.

Ere.. film wise nothing has made me get up and stop watching. Actually Dance Flick came close and that was from sheer blind spitting rage at how shit it was but i was there with my ex killing time before a bus.

Other media... none really ill sit down and play through anything thats intresting scary or not, i did put down resi 2 when i was 11 but it scared the bejebus outta me :p

1: I'm fine with all forms of gore in movies, but show one person getting a needle in their arm and I'll start to feel very uncomfortable.
2: When movies decide to have a love interest arc shoved in. Like after watching an action scene where things are blown up, bad guys are killed, testosterone levels are brought to the max, then it cuts to a scene with some love interest where they stare into each others eyes deeply for 20 second and don't kiss or anything. I prefer Rom-coms and action flicks to be separate.
3: Adam Sandler trying to be serious. The only movie I've walked out on in the theater was Spanglish

A teenage cast in a horror movie, especially when female. That is the big one for me and the toughest to sit through.

When something insults my intelligence so badly that I lose all respect for it, it's time to shut it down.

Pretty much the same as Revnak for me, and my definition of sucking also includes horror movies that use shock tactics and gore in an attempt to disturb the audience, it's disgusting and a crutch for any would-be horror movie writers/directors.

Out-of-the-blue sex scenes that don't make any sense, don't advance the plot, and don't fit the characters. A great example of this is Underworld 2 (and it's not even done well, it looks like he's trying to please her bellybutton)

I think sucking too.

I won't watching something that I know will cause me to switch off because of what's in it (Siberian Film for example, I never want to see that film)

Films done in "free cam" mode (Blair Witch Project style).

Nothing worse than trying to watch a film that looks like it's been filmed by a drunk monkey.
