Kind of multiple controversial opinions, but since it all falls under the same category (humane population control,) I'll put it all together.
This only seems to be controversial among the Americans I voice this to, but I know the governments of certain countries (*cough*China*cough*) would agree with me.
-Every wannabe parent should go through classes, pay a heavy fee, and get a license before they have any children.
-All couples/people should be limited to having only two children ever.
-(Might Offend Super Christians) All unplanned pregnancies should be aborted.
-All Men and Women should be sterilised once they've had a total of two children.
-Euthanasia should be legalized for humans, and everyone should be required to go through with it once they've hit 65 years of age.

I see you're from the states, I don't know how the situation is over there but hell up here in Canada the birth rate is 1.5, so if some one wants to have more than two kids, it's a good thing.
As for the institution of a maximum age, well that's just crazy. You might not agree or you might think that I'm being insulting but your opinion will change once you grow older.

I actually mostly agree with his opinions. Not the euthanasia one, as annoying as old people can be; that just seems somewhat inhumane, and definitely bait for chaos. But I do think the world is overpopulated, and rather than killing people, what we can do is reduce the size of the next generation. Also, since so many problems in the world start with horrible childhoods, making parents realize that parenting involves taking care of someone for 20+ years and being incredibly financially stable may cut down on children.VonKludge said:
My controversial opinion is that while I do think having sex with a minor should be illegal, it should only be about 1/10th the penalty it is today; and even if it includes jail time, it should not be considered "rape", nor label the offender a Sex Offender. My reasoning...
-When you think rape, you think "Burn the village! Rape their women!" Rape is not a discourteous invitation of someone with lesser guidance. Barbarians didn't rampage into a village, then sweet-talk a girl under the drinking age into coming into their tent. Rape is a violent, horrifying, unconsenting violation on someone's body. Calling both actions "rape" is quite frankly offensive to people who have been victims of a violent crime. The whole law starts out this way because there is so much association to the word.
-This is part of a series of laws under the impression that "under 18, you don't have the life-wisdom that most adults have to make decisions that you could very well regret." Some similar aspects that could be just as harmful if not more so include selling alcohol, tobacco, or guns. I just looked up the penalties for selling alcohol to a minor, it's something like a fine and possibly 30 days in prison (a class 2 misdemeanor). This is all under the assumption that the two are somewhat comparable, which I think so. I think downing a bottle of whiskey or having sex with your teacher are both very bad mistakes for a teenager to make, but I wouldn't necessarily call one worse than the other.
-The knee-jerk reaction is to think of someone having sex with a minor a "sleazebag" or a very morally bankrupt person. You know what? I say the same thing about people viewing pornography. Heck, I'm sure many of us are a bit weirded out by gay people going at it, yet a lot of people now support gay marriage because "Hey, it's their choice, their freedom".
-In many cases, no one is harmed by the incident. Surely, some percentage of minors will look back on their mistakes and say "Oh god, why did I do that..." We all have those moments for the poor decisions we made. However, other minors who grow up might be fully okay with the fact that they had sex at a young age, feeling that the only reason someone might oppose it is "societal constraints".
Reminder: I still think it should be illegal, just not considered anywhere near the outrageous crime it is today. And perhaps the crime would be steeper the younger you get, ie under 13 is really cutting it. And if it changes your opinion of me, I would really not be interested in a minor, myself; I'd really like someone with more maturity. I think someone who's into that stuff would be weird, yes, but I wouldn't be horrified and offended at their love.

I think the natives shouldn't have benefits just cause they're native and we took their land. They should just be treated like everyone else, no reserves no free health care or anything special that they get, we conquered them! Why the fuck should we give them special treatment? The Romans didn't give the people they conquered any special treatment and no other empire ever did (least not that i can think of) so why the fuck should we?
I think that mandatory schooling beyond primary should be abolished, there should be optional development program for people who are interested in learning, and others should be taught how to work in factories.

I had a similar idea as a child, but I stumbled upon problems with equity between people who don't do anything or people who do (what I consider to be) more important jobs being repaid.
I ended up re-creating money in a long winded way.
