Colorado.
Known for: alcohol, drugs, and fitness
Denver: First city to legalize carry of marijuana (in small quantities; it's still a federal crime though)
Pueblo: I'm not sure if it still holds these records, but once held world records for most bars per capita and most alcohol consumed in a 24 hour period per capita. And this is a city of 100,000 people.
Colorado currently holds U.S. records for most beer produced (flat out and per capita)
Colorado is also the thinnest state in the US, with the lowest percentage of obesity
Also known for having one, and ONLY one good sports team at a time, at least since the Avalanche moved here in '95.
I guess I should also mention our weather. Colorado has the most schizophrenic weather I've ever seen, with Pueblo being among the worst. Winter temperatures can fluctuate from -10 to 80 degrees, and within 24 hours. It's snowed in May here (5200 ft elevation, not very far north for those that don't know), and not just a little; I got 3 feet of snow at my place; that same weekend the air temperature was exactly 33 F for almost 72 hours (thus, the snow was actually slush... but thick as hell and wasn't melting). As well as a crapload of other weird weather. You really don't know 'til you've lived here.
