I've always found the animated verson of Nausicaä a bit disappointing. I was expecting something with the depth of character of the manga, and it wasn't there.Simalacrum said:favourite anime? Most things by Miyazaki Hayao... out of his films my favourites are Porco Rosso, Laputa: The city in the sky, and Nausica of the Valley of the wind.

dude i know what u mean gurren lagann is most epic anime ever i mean whats better then a robot that becomes bigger by eating other robots (i know he doesnt really eat them), then u through in a naked chick every once and awhile to keep the plot moving and BOOM!!! one epic animeHazardlife said:As you may have guessed from my avatar, mine is Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann ("Who the HELL do you think I am?")
Sure it's over-the-top, and contains about as much intelligence as a dead flea, but never before have giant drills and silly shaped sunglasses been so epic.
It just didn't feel like it was still Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni the tone was too different and it felt like a saturday morning cartoon the way it was going on and on about friendship besides I liked how ambiguous the first series was it gave it an absoloutly sublime feeling of paranoia where you don't know what exactly is going to happen through the enitre series and the murder atmospheres were great they gave me a good feeling of terror because of how good they were done but all these things were absent from Kai and it was just a well boring version of Pokemion minus the Micheal Vick type forced animal fights. Kai only succeeds in telling story and the first series suceeds in having an amazing murder mystery. though it may just be that I'm looking at them as too seperate series' but I just feel like there too different to be related. it was still pretty cool after watching Kai to find out waht really happened like in the first story arc no body was actually trying to kill keiichi he just became paranoid because he was really stressed out and the parasite blew everything out of porportion in his head oh and the needle it the rice cake was from Mion's grandma because she doesn't like outsiders. so it did a good job of revealing what was going on but it just wasn't the same without Bludgeoning Murder and a good mystery to unravel.so Kai is better with a story but fails everywhere else.bladeofdarkness said:you felt that KAI screwed it up ?Sacman said:5.FLCL
