I was in Chemistry the other day, and was trying to figure out what my favorite element was. So I put the same question to you, fellow escapists. What is your favorite element, and why?

To start, mine is magnesium because it burns a very bright white.

You stole my one, you git...

And for the exact same reason. I like shiny white things.

Imagination! It's untested, dangerous yet helpful, and science will never be able to explain it :D

I'm quite partial to Phazon. Hurrdurr!

I don't know, I've never been big on chemisty. I always found radiation to be an interesting subject and actually fairly terrifying, so I guess just put me down for all the really sickly ones.

Francium, because it's so ironic.
Francium has the lowest electronegativity of all elements, so it's weaker in covalent bonds.
Get it? The French element is weak? LAAAAWL.

Radium, I love the fact it technically doesn't exist due to it's micro-second half life.

Then the lazy named man made elements, ununoctium and whatnot

Another good one is hydrogen, for the reason that you can see it as the whore of the atomic world. I mean, it'll bond with anything.

Fluorine.

It's reactivity is wonderful. It might not be really explosive, but if I remember correctly from my chemistry classes (which i'm pretty confident that i do), it can react without having to touch the object it's reacting with.

i don't think my teacher explained why this works, which is annoying me now. i'll have to look that up...

Edit: i haven't found out why, but here is a video of this happening.

Helium. Tungsten and Hydrogen are tied for second.
