The epic Strider/Hunter battle at the end of Episode 2.
Also the first time i picked up a crate with the Gravity Gun and killed someone.....

The final part of HL2, when you have the super gravity gun. I could spend hours flinging combine soldiers off the ledges.

Finally getting to the lambda complex in HL1. Going into xen made all the work worth it and more.

Waiting over two years for Episode Three.

There never really was one moment I found especially enjoyable in Half-Life now that I think about it. Overall I love the game just nothing ever really jumped out at me and I said holy shit I wanna do that another 20 times.

However I absolutely love the G-Man character. I love the idea of like this interdimensional suit that knows everything and has everything planned out 100 steps ahead and is using everybody like pawns. I am somewhat excited on where the series will go. However right now these episodic things are annoying me. I very much disliked many of the characters in HL2. I would prefer to just be me vs. everything without the annoying bothers that seem to come with being a rebelious leader of sorts.

Then again my arguments with the half-life series could go on for quite a while. I loved it and ever so often I get into a half-life mood and I just cant help myself but start up HL1 and HL2 and play through them both.

Now that I have thought about it a bit more I would probably say the bridge sequence in HL2 where you have to fight off that gunship after working your way through to turn off a shield.

The end fight with Striders? and hunters at the end of...episode 2 I think looked epic, while I watched my friend play it...

I will, however, be able to tell you more after playing Half Life 2 and and its expansions shortly, as I have ordered The Orange Box just recently...Damn you people for advertising and worshipping Half Life and TF 2 so much in these forums, you pressured me to purchase The Orange Box! I hope you are happy of what you have done!

The bit in HL2 from when you first arrive right up until you start climbing through the trainyard for your life. After that, it was a good game, beforehand, it was a tantilising glimpse at a living, breathing tyranny

The end of EP3, that bit where you beat 3 striders using the portal gun is great.

Yeah that was awesome, and jamming your crowbar into that advisor's face was really satisfying too.

That was a pretty kickass game. And I did NOT see it coming that Alyx was a traitor. At least that ***** dies.

For HL2 though, I like the bit where you have to travel along the underside of the bridge. So atmospherical and intense. Just loved it.

And at the very end when Gordon finally speaks and you find out that G Man was Gordon's future self all along...

Re: the bridge in HL2... yeah the first time I played it I was thinkin... no way... they want me to cross under the bridge? awesome. the eerie wind efects and huge scale of the bridge were really atmospheric.

I fell off a lot.

Probably when you invade Nova Prospekt with the antlions in Half-Life 2. Or maybe finding the hidden vortigant cave all by myself. Or traveling over the rooftops. Or getting the SMG.

That's my runner up, seeing City 17 for the first time, seeing the living conditions of humanity. Brilliant.

My winner is the chopper chase in the original HL2. It's a turning point in the game: the moment you transform from being the hunted into being the hunter. I can play that part a dozen times (and I did, more than that) and still have that adrenaline rush.

My fav bit was on the first play through of Half Life 1 and against Nihilanth I used the crowbar on his brain, I lost a lot of life in doing so but I survived and he died and its how Half Life should have been finished .... by bludgeoning an aliens brain with the symbol of power who Gordon Freeman is.

The sense of accomplishment was great.

I also loved the constant repetitive talk of it too, yeah, I spent 5 minutes of my life to ***** about the repetativeness of chatting about an epic game on a forum, was it futile?, yes it was, will it stop you making this or me replying to something I've replied to in life and on the net before? no. But while you have the right to make this thread, i also have the right to *****.

Just because I'm a bitter jaded forum user, yeah hate me, the elitist prick that I am.

Also the Stryder battles were epic.
