What's your favorite MTG card?

Any Magic card, any block, but just one.
It doesn't even have to be playable, could just be for the art.

Mine would be a card that my friend plays in almost every deck even if the colour doesn't match.

I used to win tourneys by riffle shuffling a deck containing that and other valuable cards, unsleeved, due to a bunch of opponents being shell-shocked from seeing how much abuse moxes and such were getting.

Always was bemusing to me, seeing as I made some thirty times what the deck was worth playing poker that year.

Jester's Cap. Maybe not the most expensive and rare card there is, but I love the art work.

Alright, there are too many I like, so I think I will (slightly) cheat and just name the 2 that come immediately to my mind:

1. Turn To Frog, for the overall flavor of the card, and

2. Chandra Ablaze, for being the first Planeswalker I ever received, and being a fun one to use...

I'm sure I have several cards in my collection that I like a bit more, but like I said, these 2 immediately come to mind...

Too expensive? Yes. Not that great of a card? Indeed. The look on the opponents face if pull it and the flashback off? Utterly hilarious. Kudos if you give your creatures haste and trample as well. I'll admit, it was rare to pull it off, and usually it just took up space.

I had a low-mana Mirrodin deck that I would use with this card to absolutely churn my deck onto the field. Great with anything that benefits with a high number of artifacts in play.


Some other ones, but its been a long time. I don't quite recall them any more.

Personal favorite is [mtg_card=Sage Owl]

This really is only because of shenanigans that it was used in in high school.

Basically, I had a deck, all blue naturally, consisting of only counter spells (including one with buyback), and bounce target permanent with buyback, and an enchantment that let each player cast one spell per turn.

My only win condition was making them walk away from the table in frustration, or the 2 Sage Owls I had in the deck cause they looked cool.

Oh gawd.

This is, if I'm not mistaken, the only card from the first half a dozen MTG blocks that was banned for simply being too trollish.

Everything else was either overpowered (Black Lotus, etc) or ante-based.

@Voxgizer: That card reminds me of Choice of Damnations. Which is a very good thing, if you're building a trolldeck.

It's in a Blue/White deck. A friend told me I should get card sleeves with Troll Faces on the back for that deck. So, yea, might be a bit of a trolldeck.
