Hmmm... I did enjoy inFamous 2 which gives me high hopes for Sly 4.
I am a big fan of the Ratchet & Clank franchise, but it seems to be waning the more it expands, it's just kinda all the same thing, I mean they're fantastic, don't get me wrong, but its getting a little bit monotonous.
I have to settle on the Resistance franchise though! Fall of Man was mind-blowing, mixing R&C elements with a FPS, Resistance 2 kicked that ass going for a much more serious FPS approach with (I am not afraid to admit) a couple of things that made me shit a brick and I cannot fucking wait for Resistance 3!

If you have GoW 3 then I'd say the GoW collection and origins packs. I'd also recommend the Resistance series. I know these aren't PS3 exlusives but Bioshock 1 and 2 are worth a look aswell.

So yesterday was my birthday and my family got me a ps3 :D
i am very excited and have been playing god of war 3 and demon's souls since those are the only 2 games i own atm. i know kingdom hearts 3, final fantsy v13, and persona 5 can't come soon enough and am instantly going to buy them on release.
until then though i would like some more games to kill time with.

so what games for the ps3 do you think i absolutely have to get!? i enjoy every genre of games to an extent so anything would work. the uncharted series looks nice and resistance also looks tempting. i have been watching various reviews but im interested to see my fellow escapists opinions.

i would prefer an exclusive because most of the cross platform games i want i own on the 360 already but feel free to mention them anyway :)
Well I've always been a Sony guy so I can give you my thoughts on game I recommend.

I'd pick up Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction, and Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time. If you get these two then I would at least read up on the story lines preceding them. If you actually own a PS2 and like those games then it would definitely be a worthwhile investment to at least pick up the first 3 games in the series. The 4th was a bit of a sidestep so you might not like it but as a fan of the series already I really liked it.

Another game by Insomniac is Resistance: Fall of Man. Awesome game with a similarity to Ratchet and Clank in that the weapons are crazy awesome. If you like Resistance: Fall of Man then of course I recommend Resistance 2.

I haven't played very much of Uncharted/ Uncharted 2 but from what I've played and based on pretty much every review ever, I can tell you the game is a masterpiece by any standards and has extremely good gameplay. And if you like those then Uncharted 3 comes out I think a little later this year or early next year so you'll have plenty of games to play.

Finally basically just from what I've heard, all of these games are fantastic. Metal Gear Solid 4, Heavy Rain, Demon's Souls, inFamous/ inFamous II.

Hope this helped!

Without a doubt Demons Souls! It's incredibly deep, amazingly fun, astounding atmosphere, inventive and innovative in a non-gimmicky way, and stunningly well designed. I'll happily argue that it is not only one of the best RPGs of this generation, but one of the best games of this generation overall.

Dark Souls might not be a PS3 exclusive anymore (not that is a bad thing), but I am still insanely excited about it.

Heavenly Sword is still one of my favorite games!

Demon's Souls and Heavy Rain are also really good.

And I'm not a fan of most shooters, but KillZone 3 I actually like. Still no Bioshock but it does have co-op. Course R6V2 is better in that aspect so...

Demon's Souls, followed by Valkyria Chronicles. The Uncharted games are nice too. In any case, since you've got Demon's Souls already you should definitely try Valkyria Chronicles. It's basically an SRPG with third-person shooter elements, which is something that makes a lot more sense when you see it in practice.

Not sure I'd recommend Heavy Rain. It's pretty close to being a visual novel in that it's terrible.

My two favorite PS3 exclusives are definitely Warhawk and Valkyria Chronicles.
They both feel familiar but are unlike anything else you've ever played. I think there's demos for both of them - try them out.
The best part is that they're so old that you can get both for cheaper than the price of a new game.

Quite hard, I like PS3 exclusives more than any other console exclusives.. Uncharted, Killzone, Metal Gear Solid, 3d Dot heroes and Valkyria Chronicles are definitely up there.

Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.

I really hope 2nd poster is wrong and P5 doesn't stay exclusive. I've been playing that series since the PS1 days and I'd hate to stop now.

What's the point in wishing it stayed exclusive, anyway? So that people who didn't buy your pet system can't play it? That's kind of a dick move, ain't it?

InFamous is a must, but maybe you should go for the second instead, although I still haven't got round to playing it, so I couldn't say for sure. The Ratchet and Clank Future games are pretty good (or at least Crack in Time is) and the uncharted games are brilliant. And if you like Resistance, I would recommend Killzone 2 more so. I've only played the demo of KZ3 but from that and the review, it doesn't seem to be quite as good, but I don't know for sure.

And MGS 4 is an excellent 3rd person shooter/stealth game but it could be very confusing if you haven't played all the other games of the series.

I don't have a PlayStation 3 myself, but if I had one the first two games I'd be buying are Gran Turismo 5 and Metal Gear Solid 4. I loved every Gran Turismo title I played in the past so I'd be very eager to play the fifth installment. I wasn't a fan of the older Metal Gear Solid games but apparently the fourth game is really, really good, so I'd give it a go at the very least.
