Warhammmer 40k, I mean the tabletop game and novels. DoW 1 was alright, though warhammer 40k: spacemarine looks pretty awesome.

Firefly.

I love that series and the film Serenity. Simply put an amazingly fun series that had great characters. I recommend it for every sci-fi fan.

Star Wars. I watch the movies, I play the games, I read the books, I read the comics... yeah, Star Wars without a doubt.

General Products hulls are vulnerable to only three things. What are they?
One thing was the wire used for the day/night panels around Ringworld.... Cut through a wing IIRC.

Suprised no one mentioned Babylon 5 yet. As far as TV goes, best series for plot and characters. Just wish they hadn't lost/destroyed the footage, so we could get it in HD....

ANTIMATTER and LASERS!! lasers are not a threat to the hull itself, but to its its occupants

also disruptors

That it did, but the hull itself (and thus the occupants...more or less) sustained no damage, which was all the Puppeteers were ultimately aiming for.

YES! Two out of three!

To be honest, I'm actually surprised it's those specific two (antimatter is always the last one I think of). The last one is also from a Beowulf Schaeffer story, if I remember right...in fact, it's the short story that gave the book its name!

And I'd actually forgotten that about the light weakness. So it's not that the hull itself is directly destroyed (like with antimatter), but that the hull doesn't offer any protection (like with the other thing)...

Babylon 5 was 1 series that i very, very, much liked. It had the best plot and characters.

"Especially this one, yes!"

Further i would say, Battlestar Galactica's last incarnation is also a favorite.

EDIT: When it comes to books i would have to say that: The Foundation series by Asimov trumps Dune and Endymion for me, but that is my top 3 in the books department anyway.
Plus i read a ton of cyberpunk lately, GITS rules _o_

P.S. I am really suprised there is no mention of Star Trek yet (i dont care much for that)
