Dante
Nearly every major character in the Metal Gear Solid series
Ryu and Ken from Street Fighter, the characters who I can use well enough I to beat the ever-loving fuck out of Gill on max difficulty.

Link, hands down. No matter what game I'm playing, I always enjoy running around as a mute elf in green tights. There's never a point where he's arrogant or otherwise unlikable. He may seem a bit hapless, depending on which game you're playing, but that only makes him more likable. Link has been my favorite character ever since I got into video games, and that's not gonna change anytime soon, if ever.
Good point.

Turok - for the ability to blow large dinosuars to hell with ridiculous guns.
Voldo - the bendiness and... 'unfortunate' positions he ends up in are just always worth it.
Baraka - Mad guy with spikes comming out of his arms anda desire to munch peoples faces. I have no prolems with this lifestyle.

The Prince (PoP: The Sands of Time )-A genually believable character, who is funny, not for spoiting one liners, but for being a posh moron. All this, and he's so likable.

GLaDoS (Portal)-Some of the funniest lines I've ever heard in a game, a character who goes from slightly creepy to dam psycotic. A robot with more personality than half the video game humas out there.

G-Man (Half-Life 2)-He's so fucking weird and creepy. I hope the mystery of G-Man is never revealed, it would ruin the character.

Adam Ryan (Bioshock)-A villain you agree with, and eventually come to respect. Such great ideals, all gone so, so wrong.

Raz (Psyconauts)-I loved that kid, simply for being so determinded and badass.

The Companion Cube (Portal)-*Lowers his head in respect* He touched my heart, and he never said a word.

EDIT: Oh! Wait

Reever (Fable 2)-Alright, he hasn't got much competition, but he's best character in the game, and one of my faviourite characters in a game. Can Stephen Fry do no wrong?

Sam Fisher. There's just no question for me.

Second would be Shadow from Jagged Alliance 2.

-The Bard from The Bard's Tale

"I think I pulled a groin muscle fighting one of your cronies."
"That will not suffice..."
"Have you ever pulled a groin muscle!"

-Scorpion from Mortal Kombat

-Jackie Estacado from The Darkness

-Squall Leonhart

Glados from Portal (shes's hilarious and insane), The King of the Cosmos from the Katamari Damacy series (makes me wonder wtf the designers were on), and Altair from Assassin's Creed (he's a badass).
I agree! Glados, yes! King of the Cosmos, yes!

But I'm gonna have to swap Altair with Alucard from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Aria of Sorrow and Dawn of Sorrow.
