Wow I forgot how good the music in that game is.
Just about wrapped up with NIER. Definitely had one of the best soundtracks I've heard in quite a while.

"Fear of the Heavens" from Secret of Mana/Seiken Densetsu 2 (SNES 1993)
Its the game that effectively popped my 9 year old RPG cherry in the sense that it actually dealt with exp, element affinity, a storyline and stats. So, it'll always have a warm spot in my heart. Every time i hear it i feel like im about to be enveloped in a mystical and epic adventure.
God i wish another Square-Enix game would give me that feeling again....last ones were FFT Vagrant Story and FF9...

Second Place goes to Street Fighter III Third Strike: Gill's Theme
SF3 had the best fighting game music ever, this one stands out....
Vortal Combat is pretty bad ass and fits the antlion action perfectly.

It sets the tone for the entire game. Loved Heavy Rain and I really enjoyed the soundtrack. I'm personally fond of this song, though.Skarin said:

The Best is Yet to Come from Metal Gear Solid ranks as probably one of the most haunting songs from a game (or any other media) that I've ever heard.

I salute/have manly tears whenever I hear this.
Actually any of the Champion themes from the Pokemon games. There always the perfect theme for the ultimate boss battles.
If I had to pick a 3rd and 4th song it would probably be SNAKE EATER!!!!! and the Pokemon battle tower champion theme. Seriously, these 2 series always have awesome songs.
