Chrono Trigger

Plain and simple really, it's easily the best RPG that came out prior to the Playstation era and it acheived a level of great game design that will likely never be seen again.

Right now I'm pondering how Chrono Cross could have been... you know...good.

MGS3 is pretty high on my list, but the game I have played more than any other game would probably be Tiberian Sun.

Aww man, this idea's so original. You never see "what's your favorite _______?" anymore . . .Nostalgia man . . .

Douchebag sarcasm aside, I have trouble not liking Kingdom Hearts. All of them. They're all games that I refuse to sell, i just love 'em. This is an off the top of my head response, but if I thought about it for awhile, I might still come up with this.

Final Fantasy VII here, could never get bored of it's repeatativeness(word?), I loved the soundtrack and most of the characters (but are begining to dislike them because of the new Generation of kids).
But I'm starting to hate all the sequels and prequels to the game, they don't need to be made, it was fine the way it is.
I thought the movie was great, but there really didn't need to be a game about Zack or Vincent; I really didn't think Vincent was a character that could pretty much save the world on his own, although he was my favorite character.

I have to say my all time favourite is Pokemon Red/Blue. If you look at Pokemon and think "why is this so popular?" you probably missed out on the buzz when it first came out.

Diablo 2 without doubt!

Ok... I loved Soul Reaver 2 storyline... but this goes second. D2 was the best thing I played till now.

The ONLY THING Final Fantasy VII needs is a retranslation, so the story can actually make sense! Goddamn! All these people screaming for a remake need to replay the damn game, it's really not necessary.

I've played the games many times, probably once every year since I've got it when I was younger (was the game that got me into RPGs and made Square one of my favorite companies); the story isn't that hard to understand, I've always put it in teirs.
Simple tier, guy wants to destory world, you kill him.
Confusing tier, the evil guy is a clone of a dude and is being controlled by a monster that fell from outer space etc, etc.

Metal Gear Solid for me. I was about to give up on gaming as I just didn't seem to enjoy it anymore. Then one day I went to the video store to rent a game but they were almost all out. One of the only ones left was MGS; I thought to myself that it would probably suck but I rented it anyway.

It reignited my love of games and made it stronger than ever.

It's easily my favourite game ever.
I feel I should give a few honourable mentions though, in the form of Metal Gear Solid 3, Timesplitters 2 and Devil May Cry 3.
But nothing touches Deus Ex, here's to the inevitably bad third installment!

I'm not sure there WILL be a third installment. Ion Storm (the company that made the game) has long since shut it's doors thanks to their inability to make commercially successful games. Sure, Deus Ex was good (and sold well) but Anachronox (also a good game) never moved many units. Then you also have that whole Daikatana nonsense.

Unless, of course, another company has picked up the IP. But the (justifiably) poor reception of Deus Ex: Invisible War probably makes most developers a bit leery of the franchise.

DOOM! So much fun. I'm still not tired of it after 15 years. (Well, I don't play it daily anymore, but certainly monthly.)
