Probably Final Fantasy 8. It was different enough to catch my eye (no MP, gunblades, etc) and it's so far the only PS1 title that I still have in my playthru rotation (I've beaten it several times, but for whatever reason keep wanting to play it again.)

Aww man, this idea's so original. You never see "what's your favorite _______?" anymore . . .Nostalgia man . . .

Douchebag sarcasm aside, I have trouble not liking Kingdom Hearts. All of them. They're all games that I refuse to sell, i just love 'em. This is an off the top of my head response, but if I thought about it for awhile, I might still come up with this.
x2

Even though I sold Kingdom Hearts I and II (because I also sold my PS2) the series are one of my favorite games ever.
I haven't played Re: Chain of Memories, nor Chain of Memories on the GBA, but I'm very much waiting for 358/2 Days on the DS, and hoping my relative buys Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep to his PSP.

Also, another game I loved oh-so much, was Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence (so basically Solid Snake, but with some extras). That game was just so different, had so many memorable moments, and all the eating you had to, like rats, snakes, healing wounds, the whole escaping with a fork etc.
I just loved that game so much.

Naked Snakes ignorance is that game is superb!, such as eating the glowing mushrooms to recharge the batteries on his gear, "GREAT!".
I've tried playing MGS2 since, its a very very poor game compared to MGS3.

I'm gonna have to say Half Life 2 is my fav game of all time.

Rock Band 1 and 2 are my favourite games. Lot of fun, great replay value (Replaying songs is a lot more fun than it sounds), and great fun with friends. When I Occassionally get them to play with me.

Can't say I have one favorite. Final Fantasy 4 was epic. Chrono Trigger. Star Ocean: Till the end of time. Diablo II+expansion. Oblivion for its part. Suikoden 1&2 were basically godly. Breath of Fire 1&2. I can probably go on, but I'll stop there.

It's a very complex fighting game that's true but it doesn't appeal to many people because of that. What a shame.

Funny how there's games I played for years like CS or Diablo 2, but still they wouldn't be my first choice when talking about my favorite game all time. I'll probably say DOOM. It's one of the first games I ever played and it's still just amazing. I've played the original through over and over again and with some source ports like Doomsday too. The game just has this feeling all the new FPS games lack.

Silent Assassin
I played it through like 3 times in a row. The game was so amazing that it's hard to believe. It had everything.
Good plot - check(simply put: kill people for money)
AWESOME feel - check
Great puzzles - check
Allaround greatness - check

Conclusion: Kicked so much ass that it gave a nosebleed.
