My all time favorite game is Chrono Cross. I re-play that game all the time. The amount of replayability in it really is impressive, as is the art style, game design (combat and otherwise) and especially the musical score.

Mine is a tie between Final Fantasy VIII and Okami.
FFVIII was the first game that I completely beat on my own and I loved Okami for it's artwork, characters, and the sheer length of the game.

Toss up between Morrowind and LoZ: Ocarina of Time. Loved them both but now that i think about it, Morrowind didn't have the Water Temple. Fucking Water Temple.

Fuck Water Temples.
I've never played a single Water Temple / Level that I could call "fun".

Prince of Persia The Sands of Time.

Its got the best platforming that I've ever seen in game. In fact, to put it bluntly, Sands of Times platforming is unmatched by any other game I have ever played, end of. Its also got two of the most believable characters I've ever seen in a game AND it's about the only game ever thats got romance right. What else can I say? The puzzles where genius, graphics where surprisingly good, the story as a whole was great (its one of the few games I've played that is almost better in the retelling) and its one of the few games I've ever played thats brought me close to tears.

Truly a master piece of a game.

EDIT: While PoP SoT is currently my favourite my opinion changes weekly, so heres my top 5.

1.Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time
2.Portal
3.Psychonauts
4.Team Fortress 2
5.Shadow of the Colossus

Hmmm... either MGS (the PS1 version and only the PS1 version) or the Legend of Dragoon.
I can easily say at least no game released after the PS2 has come close, save HL 2 ofc.

World Of Warcraft - The only game which I owe a lot too but only steals a lot of my life and time :D. Epic storyline, epic gameplay and overall loads of fun :)

Almost all in my favorite book have been mentioned. Few I missed:

- Rez
- Frequency
- GoldenEye

Probably more... But some memory loss...

I actually have a lot of favorite games. So I made a list.

5. BioShock
4. Portal
3. Beyond Good And Evil
2. Braid
1. Okami
Okami... interesting choice! I loved it too but I found myself beginning to struggle to stay interested near the end.. as we all learned from Prince of Persia this year, fighting the same boss time and time again is just lazy and not fun.

But the first few hours wondering around a watercolour Nippon was some of the most exquisite gaming I've ever had.

Secret of Mana. I don't think I've played through any game as much as I have that one. Ahhh... so good.
Next comes Starcraft, then Goldeneye for the top three.

Chrono Trigger

Plain and simple really, it's easily the best RPG that came out prior to the Playstation era and it acheived a level of great game design that will likely never be seen again.

Chrono Trigger!! <3<3 And here I was thinking it was only my little pleasure!!
