Just wondering, as I pretty much listen to movie soundtracks as much as anyone would listen to any other form of music.

My personal preference is generally anything by Hans Zimmer. If you are not able to put a name to a soundtrack, he has scored films such as : Pirates of the Caribbean, Inception, Gladiator, Sherlock Holmes, to just name a few (He was even involved with Modern Warefare 2)

But my very favourite is the music from Crimson tide. Not only is it a great film, the music is beyond amazing.
I really recommend that you listen to it all (If you haven't heard it before)

I'd have to say Once Upon a December (in Russian of course) from the animated film Anastasia.

Although if you are talking about tracks that are compositions and not just songs i can't think of anything at this time, unless I can count the Saw theme.

I know a lot of people dismiss Saw (On account of the amount of cash-grabbin movies) but you have to admit the guy who did the music knew what he was doing.

Yeah I love the music Saw :)

I also love "In the house in a heartbeat" as used in 28 days later. If you're not familiar..

I'm with you on those two.

Matrix Reloaded was a shit film... so I watch it for the music and fight scenes only, these days. Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon has pretty good music, namely the theme when Jen commits suicide (Yo-yo Ma is fav cellist). Also, A Bridge Too Far & the first X-Men (Michael Kamen) film had pretty good soundtracks.

A couple others, but since I'm only watching anime atm, none come to mind.

This was like barely a few hours ago.

Please...I don't want to seem like a dick...but for God's sake, SEARCH BAR.
Haha, as if..

I did a search for "Soundtracks" and got nothing, so I just went ahead and made it :)

It would have to be Roy Budd's score to 'Get Carter' (Hodges 1971).

In my opinion distills the essence of cool. Also a strong contendor for my favourite British film (the less said about the Stallone remake the better).

Ahh yes. This one is amazing. I've actually heard it before, but unfortunately only because i was looking for the Big Daddy theme from Kick-Ass. The 28 days later version is much better i think. It still annoys me that i didn't hear it first in the movie, or that i didn't know about the film itself. It makes me feel stupid xD.

I'm always surprised how many of soundtracks I remember even though I never really pay attention to them during the films.
Of course almost all the tunes by John Williams are unforgettable even after hearing them only once.

Ah man, thats just too difficult a question. It's gotta be either Let The Right One In's soundtrack or... The Assassination of Jesse James'. But there are SO many other films with amazing soundtracks though...

C'mon Ghostbusters theme. That song is just great. If documentary counts then Metal: A Headbangers Journey and Global Metal. If you like metal I strongly suggest you watch those docos, extremely interesting.
