What's your Favourite PSone Game?

Mine has to be MediEvil 1. It was the very first video game I played, and to this day still one of my favourites. Its incredible blend of black humour, gothic atmosphere and wonderful music goes unparalleled even today. Crash Bandicoot 1 is a very close second, though.

It's fantastic! The main game (apart from the battles) is classic 16 bit; the battles are in shoddy polygons that were common to that era. You play this kid that jumps online to play a Digimon game. You pick a starter pack of Digimon and go adventuring the world, evolving your Digimon, getting cards and meeting characters.

Also, monkeys, lots of them, that you can catch.

Mine would be Final Fantasy VIII or IX. I love the junction system of VIII but I love...well everything else about IX so I guess that one wins out by default! I actually still have some PSX games to get through...I have an unopened Chrono Cross which I'm a bit reluctant to open up and, a PSX port of both Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy IV. I plan on grabbing the other Final Fantasy collections for the PSX once I find them too honestly.

Back on topic though, Final Fantasy IX.

pfft: I don't think you have anything to fear from liking Final Fantasy 7 or 8. It isn't like you said horrible things about other PSX JRPGs like Legend of Dragoon being kind of crap (please don't crucify me, I just haven't beaten it yet)

This really is the one title that springs to mind for me as well when I think back to my PSOne playing days. Played it madly, and distinctly remember beating almost everything to 100%.

God, I spent so much time with that game...I still remember when I first unlocked Worm for fusion...one of my happiest moments.

I still remember my first monster that died. It was an Arrowhead. I got him all the way up to A rank. I loved him... I've never really cried at a video game, but I think I was close when that happened...

Anyway, getting back on topic.

My favorite PS1 video game is actually my favorite video game of all time.

Legend of Mana. I am madly in love with that game from start to finish. I mean sure, it has a lot of problems, and I can go on just as long about things I don't like as I can things I do.

But it's my favorite game. I still replay it now and then.
