I've recently got back into playing RTS (Bit of Warcraft 3, Starcraft 2, CnC RA3) and wanted to know what your favourite RTS is / which ones could you recommend?

Well, Rise of Nations always held a special place in my heart, and the same goes for AOE 2. From the latest ones I love Starcraft II, I have been playing it a lot later.

To recommend, I say that Dawn of War Soulstorm deserves a look, same goes for company of heroes.

I also recommend to try some of the Total War games, though they are not RTS, but they add a totally new dimension to strategy games.

I'm tied between Sins of a Solar Empire, and Dawn of War.

Sins because I haven't played it in a while and need to come up with a better way to support my selection, and Dawn of War, because... Orks.

For me, it was Dawn of War: Soulstorm. It had everything I like - namely Warhammer 40000, good gameplay and an awesome story mode - and had it all within the confines of an RTS, which, as a genre, I usually avoid.

it's a hard choice between Haegemonia: Legions of Iron and Rise of Nations.

Currently I'm really REALLY trying to get into Starcraft and Brood War, but the campaign feels slightly underwhelming so far.

Dawn of war and all the expansions and dawn of war II and expansion. A few total war titles as well, I hope to Christ that THQ makes a third expansion to DOW2.

I personally thought soul-storm completely ruined the dawn of war series. The introduction of flying vehicles was something I never deemed necessary for the game, I thought it's pre expansions were brilliant however.
As for favorite RTS of all time Warcraft 3 has the take the biscuit, now only a great single player campaign but also a still populated online game filled with plenty of classic versus matches and custom made game modes/maps which can keep one entertained for hours :)

I really love all the Dawn of War games, though i haven't played DoW2.
Medieval 2 was fun.
And stronghold: crusader was a lot of fun, especially playing in LAN.

Age of Empires II and Dawn of War. Starcraft is still fun to play in lan.

I've always liked Sacrifice. It had similar 3rd person rts gameplay to Brütal Legend, but about ten years earlier. I loved its world design.

Not halo wars...

Warcraft 3 for me. I still play it regularly and the balance is so perfect it's always good fun.
