Warcraft 3
Starcraft 2
(If they count and I can't decide which ones I like more.. and if they count)Medieval 2 and Rome: Total War + Europa Universalis 3
Dawn of War

Set up in awesomeness order, Warcraft 3 being first. I just can't pick one

Games that I liked when I was younger in the strategy genre:
Red Alert 2
Age of Empires 1&2
One of the earlier Tiberium games, I can't recall.

Strategy game that isn't a real-time strategy game but I still want to name: Heroes of Might and Magic 3

Any of the Age of Empires really. I tried other ones, and I do enjoy them, but none of them have been as good as AoE has been to me. I played hours and hours of those games.

The orkz iz the meanest and the baddest! I would recommend DoW:Soulstorm, C&C3: Kane's Wrath (the story is actually pretty cool if u played c&c3: Tiberium wars) and if u can stand older graphics ...Metal Fatigue!

Has got to be Company of Heroes. Nothing like murdering your enemy with a single well managed squad.

i know its an obvious one but you cant go wrong with age of empires 2. that was a brilliant game purely because of the range of units and the fact you had to develop a city at the same time as battling enemies. the campaign had you playing as a variety of factions in some really good missions and the arcade mode was really good

For best gameplay Dawn of War is of course king.
I didn't vote for him!

Oh and just a curious question to someone who likes the original so much (you, presumably xD), how do you like DoW 2?

It was one match that convinced me that Empire Earth was the best RTS ever.

I was playing in a 2v2 and my ally was overwhelmed and quit. My bases were being destroyed by the huge armies of my combined foes. I had chosen as my national traits camouflage and path finding(basically my units could turn invisible and walk through woods.) With a group of about 20 snipers and a handful of villagers, I waged a guerrilla campaign against my enemies and at times it looked like I was about to win. Too bad they had the ability to replace loses far better than I could.

Never before or since have I had as much fun with an RTS.

If it counts, any game from the Civilization franchise.
Lordy, I don't think it does. Civilization tends to be a little less than real-time.

Anywho, the correct acceptable answers are:

1) Homeworld series.
2) Paradox games.
3) Ground Control.
4) Commandos (though it's more Real Time Puzzle, you could say.)

Cool story, bro.

OT:
Can't add much that hasn't already been said.
Warcraft III, Sins of a Solar Empire, Galactic Civilizations II: Dread Lords...
There's just sooo many.
Company of Heroes.
Age of Empires II.

Monopoly? :)

Company of Heroes without a doubt. Best balance of all the mechanics, smart gameplay, variety of units that don't get useless after you 'tier up', well done vehicles and good pace and it's not just 'yet another Dune2 clone'.

I've recently dug up an old gem called Beasts & Bumpkins.
... Beasts & Bumpkins?

-----------------------------------------------------

I'll admit my RTS skills are lacking. I played Starcraft, liked it and never played anything else. I seriously want to try Company of Heroes among a few others.

Warcraft III was a great RPG game, but it just didn't feel like a good RTS with the lack of units (only 100) that made me feel like it wanted to hold itself back.

Men of war, puts the strategy in real-time-strategy. No build orders or base building here folks.

Might be just me, but I prefer Supreme Commander (and the Forged Alliance expansion) over the others mentioned.
