What's your favourite underrated game that you KNOW! is awesome!?

Would that be Streets of SimCity, perchance? It has been a life age since I've played it, but I think my memory is still moderately good.

If it is, for sure, that game was fun and most people never have heard of it.

Indeed it is. I love that people here have played it. Everyone I've mentioned it to IRL have scratched their head and shrugged.

Otogi and Otogi 2. It's basically if you took devil may cry and replaced all the immature/trying too hard stuff with Okami. Amazing atmosphere. And Otogi 2 has one of the coolest-looking final bosses of all time.

That actually sounds cool, never heard of that one. I'd love to read about it, got a link for me?

I really like the expansion for NWN2, Mask of the Betrayer. Main game, is pretty good, but Mask of the Betrayer has one of the best stories for any RPG.

Two Worlds.
It has its faults, but most of them are aethetic. Hell, after playing so long, the bad dailogue is no longer apparent.
Plus you can actually join the bad guy in the end. (Though neither ending is canon in Two Worlds 2)

I've never actually played that one, but any game that lets you basically create your own free-form spells is awesome in my book haha.

Thats Two Worlds 2 that does that. In the first it is just spell cards that act as its own spell.

F-Zero GX. Those who play it love it. Also on the GC, 1080: Avalanche, had a sense of speed no other snowboarding game has.

Skies of Arcadia for the Gamecube, a fun little pirate JRPG for sure.

Also, keep in mind this is a guilty pleasure, Halo: Combat Evolved for the PC. For some reason I can never get tired of playing the same games on multiplayer on the same maps on my laptop. I even prefer it to the modern iterations, strangely. However much people may complain about how this game started a trend that ruined the modern FPS, it manages to not only avoid most of the problem it was blamed for, but provide refreshing gameplay that feels way more satisfying and fulfilling than a match in the new CoD games.

Haunting Ground was a fun and challenging game, I'm sad it's so unheard of.
Also, Rule of Rose. Uber creepy but thought-provoking... plus it was a ***** to find.

Mirror's Edge for the current generation. I think that if the are planning to expand the series they should take note of Portal 2 if they want to see a game with an inventive concept done well.


But best under rated game for me was FAHRENHEIT. sure some of the plot didn't make as much sense, but i got sucked in so much. the apprehension of covering up the bathroom murder? pure gaming genius

Also, Dr Muto is pretty cool. It seems to be aimed at younger people, but I always found it goddamn fun. Shapeshifting, interesting areas, building a machine to rebuild the world out of discarded furniture, and so on. It's just great. And every time you find a new piece of the Genitor you just get a big feeling of "Fuck yeah".

It was pretty much Road Rash on roller blades. The catch was that you could grab onto the back of passing vehicles and slingshot off them for a boost of speed. In the later stages the drivers will begin popping their trunks or coming to a full stop if they see you. And of course at the same time you have to fight off all of the other racers. So at times you'll have five guys hanging on to the back of a station wagon beating the crap out of each other. Good times.

You could also skitch onto the back of a cop car for some bonus cash. But if you hold on too long, you get arrested. Then you pay the fine and hope you have enough left over for the entrance fees. And you gotta love a game with a disclaimer.

Evil Genius. A strategy game on the PC that came out in 2004(I think), is largely unknown (or at least unmentioned), and the only time I heard it mentioned on the Escapist was a few seconds in Yahtzee's Overlord II review (0:16)

STAR WAR'S: SHADOWS OF THE EMPIRE FOR NINTENDO 64

i wasted away the mid to late 90's on that game and don't regret any of it. really thought it was a good and enjoyable game. since i was a 90's child it took a little longer for me to get in to the hype of STAR WARS and SOTE made it great.

best STAR WARS game until KOTOR and even after it. better then the forced unleashed any day
