Shadow the Hedgehog.
I don't know why everyone hated it, it was one of my favorites.

I keep posting this: the Path.

Edit: also Zeno Clash, which is both beautiful and fun. People don't seem to get how deep the fighting mechanics are, and are weirded out by the artistically genius surreal setting.

Star Wolves 1 is an awesome Space RPG. There few glitches but the game is amazing. There 2 sequels released now so got to try em out and see if they improved the great 1st part.
Most experianced gamers will figure out ways to stack some good money and exp early on. but towards the end game it will be decisions and tactics that will win your fights.
And the final mission demands pure skill no matter how good ur weapons/ships are.

Give it a try. its uber cheap on steam too.

I maintain the belief that Deathrow is the greatest game never played.

Destroy All Humans and Beatles Rock Band. Neither of which were reviewed particularly badly, but people just don't really acknowledge them. I still love them and think they're awesome.

Underrated games?

1. Parasite Eve (PS1), okay, I love this game above all other, I admit.
I have been ninja'd!!
But yeah, Parasite Eve is veeeery much underrated. At least where I am. I only know of 2 other people who have, at the very least, heard of it.

For me it'd have to be Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth. Awesome game, yet few people know it exists, or those that tried it on the xbox just failed at it and gave up. But it's so much fun, and very interesting.

The best thing I've managed to say about Zeno Clash is that people tend to describe it as "The art style is like.................." and then can't get any further.

I'm with the Mirror's Edge crowd, I even have some great speedrunning times (or at least, good routes)

Brütal Legend! Such beautiful music. Such enjoyable rampaging. Good voice cast, too.

Sacrifice! 3rd person RTS with spells like Bovine Intervention, and Tim Curry providing some more nice voicework.

Tachyon: The Fringe! Fun space combat, customizable ships and Bruce Campbell. What more do you want?

I'm joining the Two Worlds camp, that game is goood so much freedom in it that it was untrue I loved it.

Also FF14 is something I'm putting in sure its under rated but I like it. Sure its not up there with WOW but as MMOs go it is still a good one. Interesting class system and fun skill mini games for things like mining.

Evil Genius. A strategy game on the PC that came out in 2004(I think), is largely unknown (or at least unmentioned), and the only time I heard it mentioned on the Escapist was a few seconds in Yahtzee's Overlord II review (0:16)
I love that game.
It was hella hard though.

You will make me smile if you know where that screen shot is from. And of course, Freelancer, blah blah blah, fanboy, fanboy, fanboy.

Mirrors Edge and Dark Sector on the 360. Out of all games though, Disciples is pretty underrated/unknown.

But Far Cry 2 didn't have a story..It had an opening, then I just felt like a small kid with a gun that someone forgot in the middle of Africa..

I tried to enjoy it, It had potential but I just couldn't finish it..
For me that was what made it so fun. Just because a game doesn't have a story doesn't make it bad. I'm still playing far cry 2 to this day and still having fun with it, which is more that I can say for every single COD and Halo
