i used to love watching my dad play games as a kid, but the first game that ever got me into gaming was baldurs gate 2, hell i never understood the story and all the mind flayers killed me but i was addicted to the combat and the gruesome critical kills, guess ive always been a gore fiend, luckily i managed to play it through again thanks to good old games and its such a deep game, i will always love it.

Rainbow Six original back in 1996, when I was 3 - no thanks to my dad. I've played them on & off since then up until about 2006 when Oblivion came out.

After that I've played them much more frequently, even daily in some incidents, ranging from less work, less money some months or just less friends around to spend non-gaming time with. :S

But fuck it, they're my favourite form of entertainment now so haters gonna' hate.

DOOM 1 and 2 were probably my first real gaming experiences. Those and Raptor: Although I don't know if I had a Commodor 64 before or after that. But I never liked it as much as those games.

But I wouldn't say they are what made me the gamer I am today. That was probably due to the PS2. First game I had for that was The Getaway. And from there I was hooked. Soon after came Medal of Honor, Lord of The Rings, Splinter Cell and many others that cemented my love of gaming forever.

I think I'm gonna go download Raptor now...

Super Mario brothers 1. I had games before that but that one got me hooked hopelessly.

I remember playing Super Mario Bros. with my mom and older sister on our old NES. I spent everyday just playing and trying to get passed the under water world which always screwed me up.

The rest, as they say, is history.
Hurray I'm not the only old person! The very first game I ever played was Sonic the Hedgehog, on the Sega Genesis. That was my earliest memory when I was about 4 or so. But according to my parents I'd mashed buttons on the controller to play Sonic and a few other games when I was like...2. :x

Easy.
The Secret of Monkey Island

I still remember being absolutely captivated by the spectacular box art [http://scummgames.net/box.htm] the first time I saw it in our local PC shop, from which time I begged and pleaded my parents until it was MIINE. No small ask, either - we needed to upgrade our PC to run the thing.

And nearly 22 years later (yeah, let that one sink in) it's still a favourite. Just ask our cat, Guybrush.

Do you mean like, the first game I ever played? Or the game that made me decide that this stuff was for me?

The first game I played was Super Mario Land for the gameboy.
I mostly watched my older brothers play games when I was younger, so I don't really have that many fond memories.
Exept for Halo Combat Evolved. Loved that game.

It's hard to remember after so long, but I believe for me it was Warcraft II.
Played it from start to finish over and over again.
