I read Nana to Kaoru, and it's the only romance manga I will follow. Don't tell most people who know me. =D
It's funny, I just discovered this the other day. I'm in the same boat as you, I haven't really enjoyed a harem show since... well, Tenchi Muyo, I guess. But the hook that all the girls are monsters really sets Monster Musume apart. Plus, it's actually funny.SonofaJohannes said:Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou. I normally despise ecchi harem comedies (and I may have been fairly outspoken against them), but this one's got lamias and mermaids and centaurs! Also, my centaur fetish.

I'll just least this here. But I rather agree with David Grohl. as long as you are not hurting anyone there is no reason to feel ashamed of anything
Yeah, I agree with him too. There's nothing I am ashamed of liking, and I'd have no problem with admitting it.psijac said:![]()

Agreed. The only thing I'll keep to myself is sexual stuff.psijac said:![]()

That's not weird. If I'm in the mood for a romance manga I tend to go for shounen ai as well. I hate shoujo and josei, the girls are all pussies who let the men abuse them, and in shounen and seinen it's all about the guys spying on the girls and being awkward but never accomplishing anything. At least in shounen ai (some of them anyways) both men stand up for themselves and act in a reasonable manner.ItouKaiji said:I suppose that I wouldn't want to admit to someone I just met that I can enjoy a good shounen-ai romance anime just as much as a good regular romance anime. Granted there aren't that many good shounen-ai anime out there, most are far to rape-y with that uke-seme dynamic. But there are some decent ones like Junjou Romantica or Gravitation. But I've found there are several pretty good shounen-ai manga stories. Seven Days was a pretty good read as was Cafe Latte Rhapsody which was really sweet and cute. I dunno, people may think that's weird as I'm a heterosexual male, but to me a good romance is a good romance whether it's between a male and female or two dudes.
I'm sort of the opposite. For the most part, people think of me as a cynical, over-serious mook who can't like fanservice and for the most part, I am. The only harem show that for some reason I like is Infinite Stratos (yeah, I will get flak for this). Let's put it into perpective, I can say with a straight face that Sword Art Online's Alfhaim arc is not as bad as everyone thinks (yes, even the odd incest part (cousins are less genetically related so it's less of a gross out)) but if I meet people for the first time and they tell me to share a guilty pleasure, I'd probably say Toaru Majutsu no Index since that would get me less questions.Elfgore said:Of all the friends I have that watch anime, a whooping two, I have to hide that my favorite animes are romantic comedies and harems. The only anime my friends think I watch are Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online, and Death Note. Now I enjoy them but I also enjoy animes such as: KissXSis (not proud of this one), Baka and Test, Hanganai, and so many more.
So you might say romantic comedies and harem animes are my guilty pleasure.
