I corner sweep. Even in RPGs, my exploration method is really just an extension of corner sweepeing. That's about it.

as a rule I am always a mage luckily in Dao I was an arcane warrior so I could actually experience melee also Im so used to the stereotypical mage spec points (willpower, magic)that its all I am used to, I can't grasp the concept of needing armour as a skill

Compulsive reloader over here as well. I can really screw myself over when I use an lmg in a game where you can't cancel reloads.

I tend to try and keep my mags in shooters fully loaded. I tend to gravitate towards close combat over ranged when the option is present and is at least semi-useful (and sometimes when it is not I do it for teh lulz).
In strategy games (I.E. Total War because all of the C&C style build up your base bollocks are not my style, I am a warlord not a city planner) I tend to favor more medium troops instead of a few elites or hordes of low level mooks. I also prefer to have good cavalry and usually just enough of an archer brigade to keep myself from being shot to hell as I move in to do what I do best.

In RPG's I will ALWAYS be reluctant to use disposable items (like potions and such) and MP (if it doesn't regen) and will end up going through most of the game like this before realising what a tight bastard I am and thinking 'What the hell am I saving this stuff for?!'.

If a game has some sort of sprinting function, I'll lean forward in real life as my character sprints.

In Pokemon games, I abuse the Pokemon centres way too much. Like healing after every 2 or 3 battles (come to think of it, this is probably down to my habit of not wanting to ever use items).
The dreaded "But I might need it later" syndrome effects us all.

In team games, I almost always try to pick classes that help out my team. That being stuff like healers in MMOs, medics in TF2, support in MOBAs, etc.

Otherwise, I generally have a tendency to play somewhat safe, yet aggressive. I don't like taking blind risks and thus putting myself in bad situations unless I have to. That being said, I always try to put as much pressure as possible on the opposing team/player, and if I see an opening where I can fuck someone's shit up (and do it with style), I never hesitate to do so.

I tend to narrate what I'm doing, for example if I'm playing an fps I'll be like "okay lets just stop here for a sec and reload". I even ask myself questions mainly when I've done something stupid or made a mistake, I'll ask myself stuff like "what did you that for?" or "what were you thinking?"

So yeah thats what I tend to do in games.

I always stick to one decision-making path in RPGs. There's a wealth of options and I almost always pick the same ones. What can I say? I'm a creature of habit.

I tend to do contradictory things. A perfect example would be in the Elder Scrolls games.

I had just finished going through a dungeon without being seen by anyone, taking as much stuff as I can, stealing from their chests and the enemies themselves. I sneak into the final room, assassinate the boss, hide until they stop looking for me, and then proceeded to kill everyone I let live on my way out. For some reason, if I'm going into a place, I won't let anyone see me. If I'm leaving a place...Everyone dies.

I always tend to do the single player story mode before even looking at the online multiplayer. Some people do the opposite but I treat the single player as a training thing to help me get used to the controls before trying to take on other people.

A couple in MMOs...

First, I have a set of characters I play in every game. I wouldn't say I roleplay, but I project a very basic personality on them. The one of those I end up playing the most is female. Not sure how it turned out that way but whatever - I'm not my character.

Second, I don't play ranged characters - period. It just doesn't feel right unless there's mace to face action involved.

Third, I hate being pinned down to just one role. The holy trinity thing (tank, healer, dps) is pretty boring by now - I've seen it since my first Everquest character in 1999. I really liked my offhealer Cleric in Rift for that reason - you're following all the cues of a melee dps in a raid, but also keeping an eye out for big DPS spike events to perfectly time that raid heal. It keeps things interesting, and multitasking like that proves difficult for a lot of people, making me feel valuable.

Lastly, I jump while running for whatever reason. I also run in circles, usually while jumping, if nothing is happening. Easily bored much?

I have ADSS: Aim Down Sights Syndrome
I can't play a shooter without aiming down sights. I've never been able to hip fire worth a damn, so I never started trying.

Edit: I also have a reloading habit. I always like to know that I have enough ammo in the gun to survive the next person.

-Save. A LOT
-Like Red Shift, I narrate sometimes too. Mainly if I did something wrong, I might yell "what the hell are you doing?!" As if blaming my character when I'm the one really controlling it...
-I pick up everything. Even the useless items I might not need.
-In RPGs, overlevel.

When you boot up a game, and the company logos come up? I will spam every button on the controller trying to skip it, even if I know you can't.

I'm also guilty of saving a lot. My Skyrim save folder was somewhere upwards of 5gb until I recently cleared it out. I think I developed this habit from when I used to run like 200+ mods for Fallout 3 and there was almost a 20% chance my game would crash whenever I transitioned between cells, so I near constantly spammed the quicksave button.

I used to have the same problem as many others with reloading right after a kill, but I've trained myself out of it now and I do a lot better now. I usually get into cover or something before reloading, or will even run around with the minimum amount of bullets I need to kill someone in my magazine if there is a lot of people around at the time.

This. Especially for big name games that have been advertised for months at a time. "I KNOW WHO MADE THE DAMN GAME! I'VE BEEN FOLLOWING IT SINCE DAY ONE!!!!" Not so much for smaller games though. I like to see who made them so I can accurately give praise and criticism where due. Funny thing, those are the ones that usually allow you to skip the logos.

isn't that called "post-natal abortion"?
Yes, I have some line, along the lines of "but I am considering a very late abortion," stuck in my head. It's possibly form The Venture Brothers.

I also remembered the following:
- Metagames in Multiplayer: 'Pacifist,' 'Help, a key is stuck,' 'I'm a little dispenser, short and stout, this is my medkit and this is my ammobox'
