I was watching yahtzee's shadow of the colossus review and he gave a idea of his perfect game. That made me wonder, what would be your idea of a perfect game?

Open world Demon's Souls with non cheap world layout. Seriously if someone made this I would buy it immediately and never sell the console it came out on.

Legend of Mana if it were about 5x longer, had slightly better combat and just had more monsters in it.

EDIT: By longer I just mean even more quests and maybe two more big storylines besides the main 3, not just stretching out the stories that are already there.

EDIT AGAIN: and maybe some character customization, even if it's just color palettes (some of the dialogue calls out your characters appearance so I could understand not doing too much with it)

...let Monsters have color choices too while we're at it :p

To me a perfect game would be the first 27 batters your team pitches against all get out with none of them reaching base. And your team scores a run and wins the game.

A game with satisfying story and gameplay that also involved characters I cared about a open world and dialog choices like the ones from Fallout as in not voice acted and a nice big list.

Just Cause 2 with somewhat Red-Faction-esque destruction and more insane physics-defying tricks.

I think a nice soundtrack would go well with it too.

A Bethesda made world...

Characters and dialogue created by an ensemble of the people who wrote Dragon Age: Origins and KotOR II...

Music by Marty O'Donnell, Yasunori Mitsuda, and Nobuo Uematsu...

Graphics made by combining the systems they used for Skyrim, Battlefield 3, and the CryEngine...

Complete player choice on what to do and how to fight...

With incredibly well hidden references to other games throughout. Some obvious, some so obscure rarely anyone outside the development team would get it. I love shit like that.

But, this game will never be made.

Until I rule the world.

Give it a couple years.

It would have to have a detective type story, since they're my favourite type of story, good soundtrack, (J?)RPG probably, the combat and gameplay can be anything as long as it works and it needs awesome characters... Thinking about it can i just make my answer Persona 4? Or Ace Attorney?

Or... A fusion of the two... Heh i may have stumbled onto something glorious. You cross examine witnesses in court and at certain points in time you get attacked by bosses, preferably Shadow Prosecutors and you fight them with your Lawyer Persona. Of course you'd need a place to grind for EXP like a Courthouse Tartarus...

I think i need to lie down, i just overdosed on Awesome

- First person shooter.
- Really difficult. Everyone dies in a few hits and all gear degrades in quality very quickly.
- Little to no HUD.
- Scavenging supplies and equipment is greatly encouraged. You won't be able to have the same gun for anything more than 2 hours.
- A persistant world similar to S.T.A.L.K.E.R., but on drugs.
- Like S.T.A.L.K.E.R. crazy shit often tends to happen, except its crazier and happens more often.
- Everything is hostile, or dead.
- Your character needs to eat and sleep.
- Your character becomes noticibly more insane as the game goes on.
- It rains a lot. Every now and then theres a total monsoon which will completely wipes things off the map, changing the game considerably.
- The game's world has its own really odd weather patterns. It might rain for a month straight, snow for a while, become incredibly hot soon afterwards for about a week, then go back to snowing. Then maybe it'll rain acid, for fun.
- The weather and climate have a huge impact on gameplay and your character. When it's really hot plastic equipment might begin to melt, when it's really cold metal components might freeze shut rendering guns useless. It might become so foggy that you wander through a forest and accidently collide with a bunch of crazy NPC's. The player needs to learn to adapt to the constantly changing world.
- Environments vary significantly, there are deserts, there are jungles, there are oceans and there are snowy mountain ranges. Sometimes a forest will suddenly and strangely end and a desert will begin, because the game's world is weird like that.
- Mutants
- Crazy people
- Aliens
- Monsters
- Aliens and Monsters
- Shitloads of black humour
- Survival horror elements
- Melee combat
- Lots of guns

Sporehammer 40k!

Procedural, open ended warhammer 40k simulation set in the "spore" galaxy. Begin as a conscript in whatever faction, work your way up through the ranks, obtain ships, travel the warp purging heretics and looting necron tombworlds.

The creature creater is reimagined as a unit designer for outfitting with wargear and decorating with battle commendations.

Nonlinear time axis to account for the funnyness of moving through the warp.

Periodic tyranid invasions.

Honestly....I had the idea for a perfect game, and then they made Brutal Legend. Sadly, they made it badly, but I still feel the IDEA is perfect.

Skyrim. With blackjack... and hookers!
In fact - forget Skyrim and the blackjack in the first place!

Ehem, yeah, seriously though, Skyrim fits the bill from what I know of the game so far. Still hoping for a removed fast travel system with "taxis" brought back, like Silt Striders were in Morrowind.

Not that it's the only one. I'd love to see a proper Star Wars game. An MMO with Jedi Knight-esque combat (far improved with current and future tech obviously) would be something I'd literally wall myself away from the world for :p

I also love me some good stealth, though frankly, I expect Skyrim to deliver there - stealth and open world make me a happy camper. Literally ^^. I have high hopes for Far Cry 3 to improve on the second game's formula and done right, it could honestly fit the bill for another kind of my favourite games. Open world and stealth are great, but throw in a sniper and I'm reeeeeally happy. In fact, that's kinda the main reason I suffered through the second game and managed to enjoy it quite a bit despite it's many, MANY failures.

Can keep going, but yah, that's enough for one post :p

An Elder Scrolls game with infinite content and extras to no end.
So you can get guns and such, too.

First person but you can see most of your body
Zombie Apocalypse
Squad-based
Sandbox
Fast Zombies AND Slow head-shot only zombies mixed together
Human cults controlling each
reoccurring set of two different groups of twins as antagonists
Total main character customization
MC and allies can only take a few hits before dying
If the MC dies you roll up a new one
Limited ammunition
A large world and possible online MMO playability
Non-linear alignment gauge (Lawful-Unlawful, Selfish-Selfless) That is different depending on which faction
You're on-mic ally is voiced by Nathan Fillion

Yeah... I think too much about this kinda stuff -.-'

Edit: Oh yeah, and no HUD, not even a little reticule, you either iron sight or use a laser light(Which would be rare)
