DAMN.

I did a 3 or 4 hour game of CoH Opposing Fronts once. It was 4 on 1, with me on the 1 player team...
It was a custom map where there's a bridge I camped with 17 pounders, with the left and right sides of the map infantry only. I was playing as the SAS Commandos, and did some really kool ambush on 4 enemies (IE, dropped them in only to have them slaughtered for the first 3 hours)
Eventually, I owned the territory that they were in, and it was nice have a fortified base right on the road out of their base. It took only another hour or so of creeping up with 17 pounders to stop the tanks rolling out of both entrances.

I was elated when I won, I thought I had lost on more than one occasion.
The worst part about the fact that it's a still unfinished 9hr game? It's not even the biggest map >_>

I tend to lose CoH games, as the Germans I can't get the tanks out quickly enough (I'm pretty meh with their infantry) and as the Americans I can't seem to take out the German tank rushes... Although I did create an impenatrable fortress at one point, I left it to watch a movie and when I came back the AI had just given up, so I won :3

I've had a sins game last from 1pm to 4am, and still didn't finish. Non sins though, i've had some 2 hour battles on Company of Heroes, 3 hour battles on Supreme Commander Forged Alliance. A stalemate after 3 hours on Warcraft 3...

Whoa, I love RTS games but you are all punching in at 9+ hours? Madness...
My longest...
Maybe an hour, hour and a half.
Probably from Starcraft or Starcraft 2 beta.
Supreme Commander doesn't usually take me very long unless you count unit travel time.
Company of heroes doesn't take long...
Halo Wars has an average of 10 seconds for each match...

OH Wait!

Lord of the rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2. My friend and I were playing, I was Goblins and had just discovered they cannot build walls, I was relatively new so I was mass towering and he had a massive calvary army. I had pikes and such, we hit a pretty long stalemate of at least 4 or so hours.

And against the same friend, but as Dwarves, I "Leap frog" wall built catapults into his base and that took at least 4-5 hours too.

Playing civ 4 on the slowest setting always took a while. I can't remember any specifics though. I'd guess at least 7 hours.

9+ is still nowhere near finished when it comes to Sins...
Besides, I get bored of FPSes and MMOs and etc. and I need to relax a little, so I play a (really) slow game like Sins.

I'm at around 600 turns in my current Master of Orion 3 game, and who knows how many hours. I win this pathetic contest, don't I? :D

Easily! This is the sort of game I play while sitting in the library, pretending to study...
Ok, it's exactly 600 turns on a small map, and I pretty much rule everything. I dread to imagine how long I'd sit on a huge map >>
Yeah, I'm apparently the most pathetic one here. Do I get a cookie :)

Exactly what the OP suggested. I had a sins of a solar empire game I played now and again for a whole year. Not sure what the time was, but I eventually bet 8 computers, conquered the biggest conceivable map and had a full capacity of level 10 capital ships. It was awesome. I would play half an hour at most each time.

I had an hour and fifteen minute long game of Company of Heroes online. We were in a stalemate for a good half hour and then out of no where the other team's connection dropped which is a shame. It could have lasted for even longer. But then again, Company of Heroes can have some seriously long matches.

Sins of a solar empire, I don't know I think about 6 to 8 hours few breaks straight though maybe 14 hours or more in one game over the course of a few days. Sins really is a game that lets you waste obscene amounts of time.

I spent about a week playing one map in TA. Max number of teams, increased unit limit, no cheats, no speeding up the game, on a massive map. Actual game time came out to 8-10 hours, it was awhile ago so I don't remember exactly.

Thank GOODNESS it was a metal-heavy map, there was no way I'd have pulled off my Defensive Wall of Vulcan's otherwise. All I needed after that were some Dragonsteeth to slow things down until my Vulcans were super-elites, and a few anti-nuke sites. Managed to build up enough of an aircraft fleet to sneak an Atlas into the last guy's base (under cover of literally hundreds of every other aircraft type running interference), picked up their commander, and then let the computer blow itself to hell.

Good game. =D

I have an unfinished game of Sins that I've been playing around seven hours. I just left my starting solar system early on and conquered one of the empty ones, only to return later with a huge fleet and start conquering. But it takes a really long time.
I also had games in Civ 4 that when on for at least that long.
In my 9hrs game I splattered the empire that was occupying my starting system (they didn't put up any kind of fight at all) so I started off with 6 planets, then conquered my way around the outlying stars with around 6 planets and 2 empires per star, the central system is being a ***** though, strong culture everywhere and tons of flanking routes is really bogging down my inevitable advance. The Advent's Deliverance Engine annoys me, the time it takes for the deliverance signal to travel interstellar distances is absurd, by the time my shot had reached the system I was assaulting I'd already conquered the damn thing.
The central system is always a *****. That's where I started and that's why I left it. However I currently have such a huge fleet that the empires there don't pose any threat.. Last time I checked, I had the maximum number of Capital Ships, along with more than a hundred Cruisers.
However, I'll probably never finish that game. I might have even deleted my saves the last time I uninstalled the game. It has been giving me trouble ever since I got my new graphics card.

I once had a 24-hour game of Impossible Creatures against a single AI on Tunguska. I massed a large army of automatically healing ranged units, and set them up defending my base, and then my mom told me to go to bed. I forgot to pause the game, and when I got to the computer again the map was almost completely drained of resources, and my army stood strong. My army hadn't even had a casualty. Needless to say, it was very easy to head over to the enemy base and destroy it.

My Chamales had an efficiency score of OVER NINE HUNDRED, which was and is completely unheard of.

A game of any Total War can take 60 or so hours. And I've played many games in all TWs.

Also, Hearts of Iron 2 takes pretty damn long for one game.

Wow! I've never played the Sins of a Solar Empire game. It sounds insane. I might have to check it out. Four hours is probably the longest I've played. I tend to play online with my brother, and we dial the PC difficulty all the way up and play a 2v2 comp stomp.

It's fun, but rough going in the beginning. I've had many a map where we have essentially starved the PC out by mining all the resources on the map.

I always expect the cleanup to be fun, but it gets tedious after we've knocked down a hundred buildings and the PC is still valiantly trying to build another city center.

How'd you make it inpenetrable? I've always done that and had the AI start Nebelwerfering or Mortaring (forcing me to go on the offensive earlier than I wanted to) in order to keep my defenses up.
