I went with Garrus, he's an old friend who's always been there for me and honestly Turians have always captivated my interest. Sure they may not be "hot" but I love the voices and their face paint is interesting.

I never completed it with Eve Shepard because i couldn't understand why being an infiltrator was so goddamn hard and she was pissed off with liara

Daniel Shepard on the other hand got massivly pissed off with Ash dumping him over politics and turned into a bit of a gun toting psycho (because the difficulty was no longer on hardcore so it was possible to survive over 50% of fights (should carry on with Eve now that I know not even a soldier can tank it)), Jack seemed to realy fit with him. They were both psychotic and a bit uncertain of their own feelings. and the final sex scene before the suicide mission was a bit weird, kind of the exact opposite of what you want to do before a mission, all that staying up and crying and stuff, i lost all respect for the two of them.

Unlike ME1, I didn't like any of the options for love interests. I loaded a save after getting the achievement with Miranda. One night stand that didn't even happen, thanks to the magic of time travel!

Tali, on my first playthrough. Why? Hmm choice between "Oh I'm miss perfect, or psycho jack and Nice Tali who somehow had a little character.Easy choice, also she was the nerdiest.

If I ever play it again, then I will definatly go for Garrus. Because he is awesome

I didn't know you could pursue Garrus as the female Shepherd. I love that dude, but I think I'd loose a whole lot of respect for the character if I tried to have sex with him as a woman...

I chose Miranda the first time because I don't 'get' Tali. When it comes to personality, Tali's the best-rounded of the female characters on the Normandy, but Mass Effect is a video game. Therefore I went with the woman who I might be able to bear seeing in an RPG sex scene - Miranda.

Also, as personality goes, Miranda isn't all that bad or uninteresting. It's a neat concept, at any rate; trying to humanise a cloned being.

I tried, on my second playthrough, to get it awn with Samara, but she wasn't having any of it.

I immediately went for
Tali
but when I play my female Sheppard I am so picking
Garrus
.

The former because she is so goddamn adorable to me <3 and the latter because I'm a massive fanboy. That pretty much sorts that out.

Tali simple because one, she is the most interesting character, and two, every other girl on the ship is bland/physcotic/acts as if they are my slave/blocks your advances/kills you with snoose snoose

Could. Not. Resist.

Edit: Oh, I had to say why? Well, besides dat.. I mean, that. Err, well, she was an interesting character - I thought she would be boring, but she turned out to be likable. I was choosing between her and Jack, and Jack was really cool too.

Might go for Tali next time around.

My (Renegade) male Shepard picked Jack, since Liara went psycho-***** in those 2 years (and her welcome was pretty lame). And Jack is pretty cool once you get to know her (even if she's damaged goods :p).
My (paragon) female Shepard stayed with Kaidan, even if things didn't go very well on Horizon.

None, I know if you cheat on your love interest from the first game it will bite you in the ass in ME3.

Tali.

Because when I was playing the first game, I remember thinking "damn I wish she was a love interest". When I heard she was a love interest in the second game, I knew I'd pick her.

My male sheppard went for Tali, her romance responses were adorable.

I had two femsheps:

My first stayed loyal to Kaiden, because I'm curious to see how that will play out in ME3.

My second went for Thane. I don't know why exactly, there was just something about him I was drawn to, his character was really interesting to me. Not to say I don't like Garrus, but for my Sheppards he's always been firmly in the "good friend" category. I also thought it was adorable that Thane called Sheppard "Siha".

We fetishize vulnerability. It's funny, for me, because I remember on Illium in the bar you overhear a conversation with a Quarian complaining to her Tauren friend about a human being attracted to her due to her perceived vulnerability/weakness.
Tauren? Dude, you're stuck in Warcraft. Garrus is a Turian.

Anyway, I didn't even know you could romance Garrus, or I would have! I just kind of immediately hit on Jacob, since you know, Garrus is a scaly alien, and I couldn't imagine what the sex would be like: I'm assuming there wasn't any, or that would just be...weird.

I didn't know you could romance Garrus, either. I mean, I really like the character and all, lotsa respect, he's a trooper through and through. But romance? ugh, no, no, no, thank you but NO.

But I learned it was possible, the hard way...

So I'm having a chat with him, after he tells me of his... *incident* with that fellow soldier, the options pop-up. They pop-up in Spanish, of course. And here I am clicking an option that I think is little more than a hearty joke on the subject, or at least that's the impression that the Spanish translation gives me! and 3 secs later, I have my female Shepard pulling all stops trying to get into Garrus' pants.

Luckily it was a first, quick play-through with a random Shepard. Afterwards proceeded to play with my ME1 Shepard, and steered the hell away from that romance subplot. EW.

Tali for my male Shepard, and no one for my female Shepard.

I based my choices off what I had done in the first game, and since the first time I played male Shep I ended up letting Ash die because I was aiming for Liari, then decided at the last moment not to romance Liari either (can't remember why, I think I was trying to roleplay him a bit more seriously), so him getting with Tali wasn't cheating on anyone, and I always liked her more anyway.

Fem Shep, again I tried to roleplay a little bit more seriously, so I kept her with Kaidan, which will hopefully have some sort of payoff in the final game.

Tali, she's sweet, smart, and hot as hell...

I think I have come down with a case of xeno-fever...

Damn, you're right. Crap.

That said, my point (which was fundamentally that we gamers are attracted to vulnerable, awkward, wounded birds) isn't really made any weaker by your preference for Garrus.

The huge (and lovely) ammount of people who preffered
Tali and Garrus
as their love interest indicates me those who played Mass Effect 1 frustrated that there no other alien species avaliable to romance in the first game outside of Asari and Human.

I say, for the third game let's allow Salarian, Krogan and Hannar too!
