Modnation Racers is pretty much the only thing I play multiplayer right now. I used to play a lot of multiplayer games like CS, and later DotA, WoW, Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, League of Legends, but I think I lost my patience for online multiplayer, and the only times I play Modnation online is in split screen anyway.

Edit: Actually, I forgot Fifa 10 Ultimate Team, I actually play it a lot.

Now? Monster Hunter Tri. I love it, every grinding piece of it. Especially taking out big baddies with 4 weapons and still surviving on the skin of our teeth...

Gears of War 2. Because it's fun, 'cept for the balance issues that Epic refuses to fix and everyone tends to exploit. >.<
If everyone exploits it is it really a balance issue then?
I suppose if everyone did it, then it may not be. The entire game would be reduced to a game of chance timing about who could press the B button fastest, but it wouldn't be a balance issue. But its existence does mess stuff up. Namely, regardless of whether or not everyone does it, a game of skill suddenly turns into a game of the B button. In this case, melee, which stuns your enemy for a second (a great idea, really), but also does enough damage that you can basically just go up to someone and mash the B button to kill them. The more common tactic is the two-piece, where a melee is directly followed by a direct shotgun hit. The two-piece would actually be a great tactic, but since the melee does so much damage in the first place, it's really not at all difficult to pull off. On the flipside, you also get a bunch of noobs who will not even shoot at you unless they can first melee you. Regardless of who uses it or whether it's really a balance issue, it definitely affects the game for the worse.

Oh, and glitching off the map. Which has been possible in the same locations on the same maps for a long time now, but seems to be fixed one glitch per update. Which is every couple months.

Team fortress 2 [Xbox version...]
and Shadowrun

both are very fun and are much more relaxing than some of the other multiplayer games that I have.

I've been playing Unreal Tournament III for PS3. You'd think there would be hardly anyone online and those that are are superhardcoreimpossibletobeatweirdos - that is simply not the case. It still has a thriving mod community and its fairly easy to find a deathmatch to join, with people of varying skills. I picked up the game 2 days ago and I am able to hold my own and I am by no means a good player - I get splatter-caked very easily in Modern Warfare 2.

Admittedly some of the more unusual modes like warfare or betrayal are a little thin on the ground sometimes but that is unsurprising. Still, comparing it specifically to modern warfare 2 which was the last game i played online this game is supreme. It's as if "fun" has been reinjected into the shooter (from the past!) the announcer as you get a double kill is thrilling, the guns are properly balanced, some much better than others but thats the nature of the game - you go in search of the better weapons! No silly health bars, pickups, mutators like the titan mod. I could go on. It is simply su-perb. If you want a change, do what I did and get it, now!

Team Fortress 2 on 360. Community isn't so great in my opinion, but it can be tons of fun.

I have 11 hours into my Pyro, my most played class, and only 90 minutes into the Scout, haha.

Oh, and on PC, Guild Wars. Love that game.
