Oh come on. No one is completely sane. Least not in this world...

What's your little irregularity? What in your mind and personality sets you apart from others? Feel free to mention actual illnesses, but what I'm talking about here are the things which don't have an illness, they're just kinda there.

Mine is that I have a near psychopathic obsession with fear and laughter. I like to make people laugh, and I love to make 'em scared. There's just something about forcing such involuntary reactions out of people that I love. Thus I'm a horror/comedy film maker primarily. Nothing compares to the combined laughter/screams of an entire audience.

I have a tendency to make exaggerated tales up out of nowhere. They can last for about 10 minutes. My real goal of these stories is to get people to believe them. Amazingly, it actually works more often than not. I'm good at what I do.

I also have a strange tic wherein I'll go to push my glasses up my nose. I've never worn glasses in my life.

I'm also known for being exceptionally inappropriate. Exceptionally so!

When I'm bored and not doing anything I tend to reflect on funny stuff I've watched/witnessed/experienced in the past, whether it's something my friends said, or a youtube video, whatever... This usually results in me smirking, or even chuckling outloud. I work as a cashier and during slow times I tend to day dream and when customers or co-workers ask why I'm smiling or laughing it gets kinda awkward.

If I see numbers I usually start adding them together. Then I start dividing, and sorting, and all kinds if things. I do the same with letters, sometimes even translating them into numbers and do the same thing with those numbers.

I'm not that smart or good at math either, it's just something I usually do.

I'm usually pretty good at paying attention, but every once and a while, my attention span just goes out the window. I have no idea why it happens, but when it does, it's really hard for me to focus again for a while.

I have these existential freak outs where I start to ponder if everything around me is even real and have this notion that I can alter reality with my mind. Oh, and I have a running monologue.

You know, given that we are all nerds/geeks, and this is a thread about being non-clinically crazy, I'd say that you've just given about 3 people that habit.

OT: I topic-jump. All the time. Someone will say something and I'll relate it (in my head) to something else, then think about that, which will send me off on another tangent, and eventually I get to the point where I just blurt out something seemingly unrelated to the topic at hand (oh, did I mention I tend to think aloud).

Sperging bad and completely missing the context of a word I could have read thousands of times before e.g. "A man was attacked with a bat wrapped in foil" I thought "Why the fuck would someone attack another person with an animal in foil?".

Takes a second then I facepalm at myself.

I keep seeing patterns in numbers on signs, clocks, licence plates, bar codes, etc.
It's as though everything just fits together to please some mathematical deity.
But what can I say, I'm an engineer after all.

For some reason I'm very good at remembering very mundane stuff, like character names in movies, song titles, basically anything to do with naming. Comes in very handy sometimes because people like it when you remember their name. :p

Other times it's annoying because people don't like to be reminded of things they have forgotten or being corrected, so I usually try to avoid doing that even though I know the correct answer. :x

I have considered trying to get into some TV quiz though, I'm quite good at those...

I constantly find my thinking in the frame of a different personality (this isn't multi-personality disorder, I can go back to my normal one at will) it often results in me using an accent, and having some interesting, but obvious fault (such as arrogance, or spite) most of these personalities are friendly.

I count in German. If I ever have to count, I go "eins, zwei, drei" and so on. I don't speak German (beyond the odd word or two), and I've never had anything to do with the country. Why I do this is a mystery to me.

I also play around with numbers I see and push my glasses up my nose, even when I'm not wearing them. I'm pretty sure I inherited that last one from Metal Gear Solid's Otacon.

As an ex-engineer, I have the same problem.

I also do...

...this. I did wear glasses at one point... however, I've been wearing contacts for years now. Still do the glasses-pushing-up motion, though.

I also twirl my hair when I'm thinking about something. This was considerably easier when I had long hair. Now that my hair's ~1-2 inches long, it's a bit stranger.

And I can make up a story at the drop of a hat. About most anything. As a writer, though, that's not a bad thing.

I kinda have that. Except it doesn't usually happen in my voice. It's not an alternate personality, it's just thinking in a different voice. Though, this can get annoying. After too much yu gi oh abridged;

Joey wheeler: Huh. They don't have any discount wheetos. This give me rage. Rage specifically located in the westernmost region of long island in new york. OTHERWISE KNOWN AS BROOKLYN!

Me: dammit, stop thinking in joey wheelers voice. It's annoying.

Joey Wheeler: Nyeh, Don't forget to pick up your change!

Me; goddamit.

The pharoah: What is going on here? I'm trying to practice my mind crush!

Me: GODDAMIT SHUT UP!

...phew. What a relief.

The nostalgia critic: Heeeelllooo I'm the nostalgia critic, and I'm in *my name*'s head.

me: AAAAAAAAAAAARGH!

I have a tendency to day-dream. I mean, HEAVILY, missing stops, drifting off in the middle of conversations only to snap back out of it after a little while (five seconds? Fifty? Five minutes? No idea!) and not having a clue what we´re talking about now...

My mind is shock-full of songs I've made in my head. I don't have enough talent to transcribe them, so you'll just have to take my word for it that they're awesome. Also in my head is the synopsis of a five season tv show and the autobiography of a person that doesn't exist, among other things. My mind tends to get pretty creative when trying to stave off my boredom.

I'm terrified of balloons. <_<

I just really hate it when they pop, okay?
I know, tell me about it. I am so used to sudden loud noises (firearms, machinery, living in an active house), but balloons ALWAYS freak me out and ALWAYS make me jump when they pop.

I am terrified of being in my kitchen during night.

If I walk up the stairs at night, I always run.

80% of the time, I get panic attacks if the mouse is not at the exact center of the mousepad.
