RDR Undead Nightmare for me. The whole hands on zombie fighting mechanic is simply broken. You get surrounded and pounded to death. No intuitive way to fight zombies unless you run marathons around zombies.

Also Black Ops for lack of stealth missions

What's yours?

Play Super Meat Boy [http://www.plentyofgames.com/Platformer-Games/137/Super-Meat-Boy.game] / Super Mario Flash [http://www.plentyofgames.com/Platformer-Games/135/Super-Mario-Flash.game] / Sonic Flash [http://www.plentyofgames.com/Platformer-Games/133/Sonic-Flash.game]

Black ops, It's just more of the same. Don't get me wrong I've loved the cod series, It's just it suffers the same fate as fifa in that apart from a few minor changes it's basicaly the same game.

Loved undead nightmare though, more than the actual game.

Most new releases that I played this year either totally delivered the goods (New Vegas, Napoleon: Total War, Mount&Blade Warband, Patrician 4), were games I had low expectations for and was thus pleasantly surprised when they turned out good (Commander: Conquest of the Americas, Victoria 2---the latter is Paradox's first unarguably great game on the 3D Clausewitz engine), or aimed low and hit their mark (Cities XL 2011, a mediocre game that's only worth getting if you get it at a deep discount---if I'd paid the full $40 asking price I'd have felt ripped off, but for $20 (yesterday's Steam deal) it's serviceable.)

Most legitimately disappointing game? Probably Civilization 5. Either the series has finally reached the point where it can't disguise the fact that it's a more-polished rehash of a 20-year-old concept, or Civ 4 was legitimately so good that 5 was guaranteed to feel like a letdown.

So yeah. I guess by default, Civilization 5.

Not to say that a "most disappointing game" can't redeem itself---Fallout 3 was my choice for Most Disappointing Game of 2008...but 5 DLC and some patches later and it's second only to Rome: Total War as my all-time favorite game.

God, where do I start?

Black Ops
Fallout NV
Medal Of Hono(u)r
Star Trek Online
Mafia 2
Crackdown 2

Been quite a mediocre year in the relationship between me and "the big games".

Hmm.

For the most part, 2010 has been a great year for me, God of War 3, Mass Effect 2, Starcraft 2, Donkey Kong Country Returns all completely blew me a way, and the majority of other games either met my expectations (See Heavy Rain, Black Ops, New Vegas and Civ 5), pleasantly surprised me (See literally every downloadable game I've played this year and Amnesia) or I didn't think they would be good at all and was proved clairvoyant (See Fable 3, TFU2, Kane & Lynch 2 and Other M).

If I had to chose one, I'd say Mafia II, I really enjoyed the first Mafia, it was fun, camp and colourful, and the sequel just seemed watered down to the point of insanity.

I'm going to be a jerk and say Half-Life 2 Episode 3, because there's still nothing.

Out of actual games...Um, I guess it's a tie between H.A.W.X. 2 and Bayonetta. Never traded games in so fast before in my life.

Fallout NV was a let down for me, I've been a fan of the the series since FO2, and when they released this buggy imcomplete game, i was really annoyed. It needed another years work, at least.

Still, next year I have Brink and Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim to look forward to, lets hope 2011 is a better year for gamers.

Force Unleashed 2.

They couldn't even be on par with the first one in any aspect. The game was shorter (the first was already pretty short). The bosses were lame and sparse. The combat was not improved along with the aiming. The story was nonexistent. There were about three environments in the entire game.

Seriously, Lucasarts? You couldn't at least repeat the moderate success of the first?

Final Fantasy 13 I didn't go into the game with any expectations but I have never meet a cast of characters that I hated so much in my life. Crackdown 2 I was hoping they would have improved on what made the first game great but it's just a big orb fetching game. The Force Unleashed 2 I don't mind strong force powers but Starkiller's were kinda insane and it didn't really feel like a challenge at all. GoldenEye I still love to play it but it doesn't feel like GoldenEye it feels like Call of Golden Duty Eye. Monster Hunter Tri which I love to fucking death but it could have used more seeing how Portable 3 is giving us more a lot more I was expecting something like that for Tri.

I was going to say Black Ops, but I expected that one to suck. Instead I'll go with New Vegas, or at least I would, if I could play it. Which I can't, BECAUSE IT KEEPS CRASHING.

Mafia 2
Crackdown 2
Fable III
Black Ops

Reasons:Mafia 2:Easy Completion
Crackdown 2:To easy
Fable III:Both of the above
Black Ops:Lack of stealth

EDIT:To some extent Fallout New Vegas. It did'nt do it for me. I play it but I think F3 was better.

Mafia 2 I would have to say.

It actively discourages free-roaming by always having the next mission marker up on the map (as well as a way point, which gets in the way if you don't want to follow it).

The story is weak, and the characters shallow.

The game was pretty damn easy, even on the hardest difficulty level (the only difficulty level I have played).

The cops are fucking idiots. I can run red lights and drive on the wrong side of the road, as well as smash up a random persons car without anyone giving a damn, but go 2 miles over the limit or ding a cop and they go after you. Even then you can lose them in about 5 seconds flat even if you have the "full force" after you.

To be honest the only decent thing was the fact the combat system was actually pretty damn good.

Fallout: New Vegas, simply for how broken it was. Had the game simply functioned like it should, it would probably have been my favorite game of the year.

Fable 3 is runner-up. It functioned fine, it was just a terrible game.

Surprised no one has mentioned Halo: Reach yet. That's either because no one was disappointed and that it is completely full of win, or people wisely didn't expect it to be the second coming of Jesus that certain previews claimed it would be. Put me in the second category.

I generally wasn't too disappointed this year, but I guess if I had to point out shortcomings I'd say:

Heavy Rain: Decent story, but I saw all the endings in like 8 hours of total play. I can't think of anything less replayable than a short quick-time event-laden mystery where you already know what happens.

Fallout NV: Awesome game, love it to death, but the glitches can be crippling. And how crappy was it to see that "New Vegas" didn't actually resemble old Vegas, at all? At least in FO3 you had real monuments from D.C. in all of their post-apocalyptic glory. NV had "the Strip" which looked and felt nothing like actually being in Las Vegas. Call me crazy, but that felt cheap and painfully lame.

God of War III: You punch Zeus to death. YOU PUNCH ZEUS. TO DEATH.
