In Deus Ex Human Revolution, I totally missed the hostages. Apparently this kills them all. I was NOT AMUSED

And the time I almost beat the last level in Super Meat Boy....Which I still have never beaten.
On my first play through I spent too much time looking at stuff throughout the office, but then I got a message how the hostages were F'd and I felt bad the rest of the way through. I amended that in future.

Accidentely letting Ben die at the end of The Walking Dead Ep. 4.
I hated him/he annoyed the hell out of me/I was fucking pissed he pulled that axe from where it was, but I never leave a man behind if I can help it. Never.
I was just so shocked to hear him tell me to let go that the timer was almost up and I pressed the wrong button.

Never reloaded so fast in my life. That crunch sound when he fell and knowing he was going to be eaten-to-death...No...just...no.

I accidentally killed Stockpile Thomas in Demon's Souls. I put the controller down and something pressed against the strong attack button and I ended his life with my newly upgraded.

In Persona 4 I hadn't saved in a while and I was getting low on sp but I figured I'd fight one more battle before I bounced out of the level...big mistake. I mistimed my swing and the enemy got advantage and one-shotted my party. It was pretty terrifying doing the level over again and knowing that these guys could whoop my ass at any time.

Joining in with the Dark Souls party, I killed the Undead Merchant because I thought he was an enemy. After learning from this mistake, I decided to hit the Female Undead Merchant because I thought my weapon couldn't hit through the bars. I was wrong. Luckily I was able to pay Oswald to make her forget that ever happened.
killing the male undead merchant isnt really a bad thing though. he drops the uchigatana, one of the best fast weapons in the game when fully upgraded down any path but raw.

So there's this very long fight up a mountain In skyrim, to find a shout. The shout makes to very briefly invincible, and at the top of said mountain is a cliff, so you can try the invincibility out. I immediately jump off to do just that.

Except my last shout hadn't cooled off yet.

Not necessarily horrifying (maybe a horrifying waste of time), but a hilarious accident in Skyrim.

So I get sent up to the top of the mountain by the Graybeards to speak with Paarthurnax. I get to the top when over flies a dragon. Thanks to my all too quick reflexes when playing a game, I immediately attack him with my bow.

Cue a ridiculous half hour fight involving me bringing down his health, only for him to regain all of his health when it gets to a certain point.

I finally said "screw it" and reloaded my saved game. I decided to sneak when I got to the top, only for Paarthurnax to land and me realizing I'm supposed to talk to him

Walking Dead. It was only a couple times, but I seem to recall doing things that very quickly turned out to be... not so nice.
Put it this way: Any time I play a game that offers me a choice of being a nice guy or a bad guy, I tend towards the nice. Maybe it's something to balance out the mindless slaughter that goes on in 90% of video games.
Anyway, yeah, there were a couple times where I had to quit the game so I could redo one or two choices that I didn't like.

"Comfort Misha".

Now, a decent person would imagine that this would entail saying things would be alright and some grand, mutual resolution could be obtained. That sounds pretty comforting. But no, a quite different scene is triggered which leads me to bring into question what that scene's writer thought that "comfort" meant because it evidently differs from my own notions.

Comfort in their case is "immediately get physically intimate with a desperate and confused individual".
But luckily I had a faint feeling that something was up, and had a save right before the choice so I could avoid netting the bad end by accident/the pursuit of curiosity.

Kaboom.

HAHAHA! I did a similar thing, only I was in Werewolf form. I had recently ran off a tall building and took no damage (still not sure why), so I assumed Werewolves didn't take fall damage...NOPE! Seeing my dead transformed corpse just sitting in between all those rocks made me realise that Werewolves in Skyrim were sensitive bastards.

There's been a bunch of horrifying game moments that were caused by my stupidity (and lolsiness) but yesterday I was playing Farcry 3 and decided to swim through a river even though it was swampy.

SUDDENLY, CROCODILE

That was scary, out of nowhere, QTE's got me there even though I survived... And then I was out in the water trying to kill sharks, and I fell in and saw two sharks nearby and I was panicking in my head because I hate open water and just thinking about it (let alone doing it in a game) is flipping scary. When I got to my boat and climbed into it I had a shiver go up my spine.

Mann, I know this feel, except as for as my experience with Farcry crocs go. My first last/last time just herp derpin' exploring happened when I jumped into a similar looking pond/body of water just to get away from some pirates, and I got death rolled in a matter of seconds right when I splashed my ass in.. I audibly gasped at how quick and realistic that was, imo. Lmfao.

While playing through Bioshock Infinite I accidentally stole something resulting in everyone in the room to get up in arms. I lost more than I gained that encounter >.>.

Only thing I can remember is Vampire Lording up in that vamp castle in Skyrim. I just wanted to check on the perks... Don't know why they all lost their shit and attacked me.
Oh well, save was just a minute ago, so no biggie.
