What's Your Multiplayer Game of Choice, and Why?

A simple question, my fellow Escapists!

After a hard day at work/school/the mineshaft which multiplayer game do you play to unwind, or indeed, get riled up?

For me, it's Team Fortress 2 and (when I had an xbox) Halo 3. Both games are light-heared and wacky enough that the atmosphere seems to be rather chilled out (note that, maybe due to having my LIVE account set to Casual, I don't run across any screamers on Halo 3), they're both games I can just jump in and play. Plus I'm mildly good at both of them, perhaps not a chart-topper, but I can at least frag my way out of a paper bag.

Games like CoD 4 and, to an extent, Left 4 Dead have always seemed much more serious, and whether or not you win or lose seems to be a lot more vitally important. This is somewhat stressful, and I like to save my stress for the single-player experience.

So! Fellow Escapists, which multiplayer games do YOU play, and just what is it about them that does it for you?

Note: Not restricted to FPSes, MMOs and everything multiplayer also count

Neverwinter Nights. I dislike giant blocks of motherfucking grind, and if you join an RP server, there'll be an open world, and some other people to play, meaning that you'll never have the same experience twice.

Team Fortress 2, but it loses some points because the DLC isn't available for Xbox yet...

Super Smash Bros. because if I married a genre, it would be platformer, and ssbb is the only multiplayer platformer I really know of.
Super Smash Bros. is a platformer? The only game of the three that had platformer elements was Brawl, and that was only in single player. Last time I checked they were fighting games. o_O

Either Vegas 2, CoD 4 (Not Working :( ), or Halo 3, because I make maps. like Hinzerhaus (1, 2 and 3. was making a 4th)

but I'm not playing multiplayer much these days...

Team Fortress 2, it is the first multilayer game that I have actually been able to do well in. Not to mention the humour of it, which just make me feel a lot more relaxed, rather then adding to my stress.

CoD4, WoW and Company of Heroes.

I play them all because I enjoy them, if I didn't I wouldn't.

Team Fortress 2. It's like a drug. I've played it for a year now and it never gets boring.

The graphics, gameplay, characters and expecially the voicework makes the game pure gold.

The absence of screaming 12-year olds counts as a plus too.

Halo 3 mostly, just because most customs are GREAT party games. Like, really. It's like doing a 4 player podcast with 12 people.

Second would be TF2.
