I like anything, mostly alternative, with Modest Mouse being my favourite band. I also love anything produced by the Elephant Six, Neutral Milk Hotel's Jeff Mangum was described as a modern day Salinger; I don't disagree.

That said, I do find Tom Wait's music incredibly appealing, Nick Cave too.

Very diverse. Alot of rock from the 80's and early 90's. Beyond that if gets much more band/song specific because of my post ~1995 music bias. Basically if it sounds good, is not overloaded with sexual overtones, and posesses an interesting message, then I may like it. A music genre does not matter that much if the song itself is very good.

I love underground metal. Melodic Death Metal is best. Into Eternity, Norther, Dominia, Scar Symmetry, Turmion Kätilöt, Eternal Tears of Sorrow etc..
Ok, most of those aren't THAT underground, but they're just some of my favourites. A lot of other bands I like are really unknown. Lyfthrasyr, Deadlock, D Creation, For My Pain, Shade Empire, Skyfire, Faithful Darkness, Elenium, Made of Hate, Scartown, Instant Suppression and loads of others.
Too many to name. I LOVE METAL.

I like all types of music, but my preference is metal. Enslaved, Iron Maiden, Negura Bunget (before the line up issues), Dark Tranquility, Lamented Souls and Amon Amarth and the like.
