Mine sits at that borderline between "Ghetto-tastic" and "Petty bourgeoisie artiste culture". I come from NDG, within Montreal. Tis the most anglo-centric place in the whole gosh-darned city. I've lived here all my life, and I love it to death.

We spent months looking for a nice street and nice houses when we wanted to move out of the god-awful apartment. We finally found a nice, quiet middle-class-ish street with nice non-cookie-cutter housing and quiet neighbors. Honestly, we don't really want to stay in this small, poor town very long (actually we don't even really want to be in California anymore). I could really rant and give some hate for this town, but I wont unless asked. I'll just say it really sucks the soul and hope out of people. Hopefully, the husband will get a much wanted transfer out-of-state when they become more available to him.

Extremely quiet area with a lightly wooded area to the south of the neighborhood. There are almost never any disturbances. Mostly older/elderly families live here so in addition to the quiet, every house in the area has an immaculate yard. Nice place to live.

Litter is a big problem, there isn't any communication between neighbours and there's a lot of non-english speaking inhabitants.

Wouldn't live anywhere else

I live in Leuven, Belgium. It is a city dedicated to University and University life, which means that 90% of the people who live there are between 20 and 30. It is impossible to find a street without a bar or a café. Therefore my city has been dubbed the biggest bar in Belgium ^^. It's not as big as Antwerp or Brussels, but crime here is very low, everybody is friendly and it's safe to walk at night. Because it's dedicated to its universities, Leuven attracts a TON of international students, so everyday you can have very interesting conversations with people. The city makes sure that it's very clean and every thursday the whole 40 000 of the students who live there go out to party.

Also, everybody is horny, which is always a plus.

Small upper-middle class town 20 minutes outside of NY, unfortunately we have highways on 3 sides of the town and the NJ meadowlands/dump can stink in the summer.

Fairly posh, and you barely see the neighbours (and they make it feel like you've broken some sort of agreement if you do). There are some nice reasturants and a halfway-decent pub, though, and it's one of the main migration trail for drunks heading home during the weekends.

My old neighbourhood was similar, only less boring and more... Lively, quaint. With cafés and pubs, and less of the "Oh, look how fine and posh we're here!"-spirit I can't really get past. Only downside was that my local pizzeria didn't want to pay their protection-fees to the mob and got bomb-scared or shot at a few times. I admire someone who won't give up, but still...

Oh, and both got the benefit of trams slammering past all day long. That sound will grow on you after a while.

My neighbourhood is a classic example of an Auckland, New Zealand, middle class suburb. Nothing but detached family homes with a small group of local shops. Lots of trees. Beach is 400m down the road. General political views are centre-right but there is a reasonable amount of centre-left voters. Crime is almost non-existant. Normally just bored middle-class teenagers causing trouble. Population is largely the classic middle class white (quite a few South African and English immigrants included) and a few asian immigrants too (mostly Korean) although they seem to prefer the newer suburbs away from the coast.

Here is a good picture of the beach, one of the streets and some of the housing.

Mine is... okay. I live in upstate new york in a small town. For me growing up though it was difficult, as my town is one of the few that will openly shelter sex offenders and child molesters, and many hotels/homes in my district do in fact keep them. So growing up it was always kind of awkward and filled with paranoia at least for my family.

Used to be tiny, now it's building up. Im curious to see how it will be in a few years.

Pretty good. My neighborhood is called Roland Park. According to Wikipedia, it was the first planned community in North America. Pretty much old victorian style houses. One guy owns a cat that just wanders around during the daytime. It's a pretty nice neighborhood.

I live on the outskirts of a small town in South Carolina. I'm the only person within a 5-mile radius that's both under 35 and over 10. It's quiet, boring, and frankly I can't wait until I have some money to move out with.

Small, peaceful, mostly small children. No one of the same age as me.
90% are friendly people, the rest I can't stand.
Nothing really happens, so it's kinda boring.

At least we have a mall, a high school, a football (soccer)field and a cinema within 2 minutes away.

Except for the shooting that happened a few months back over drugs, an actually relatively peaceful neighborhood.

Some of the little rich kids in my neighborhood have gotten a sort of "Kings of Suburbia" complex going on, and they tried doing business with hardened drug dealers which got one of them killed.

I've been through many different neighborhoods, this one seems to be the nicest. Great place for old people to come and die.

Upper-middle class suburban Australia. Beach town, not very large. Pretty much the quintessential 'starting town', like something out of Pokémon game.

The people overall are pretty nice. Occasionally crappy neighbours but otherwise good.

Just got some incredible déjà vu...

Western Australia.

Lets see what I can think up here.
It is...
Quiet
Hot/Cold mornings
Lots of trees
And a few shops

Nothing much else unless I bike ride to the nearest Shopping area...

Apparently I live in the best suburb...really?
