Fallout: New Vegas. It was awesome from start to finish, and it amazes me how many people just don't get it.

StarTrek Bridge Commander

On one hand its an 8 year old game with graphics and mechanics very much of there time. Its buggy, its unable to run at my monitors default resolution and modding it frequently makes it throw its toys out of the pram and refuse to give you anything but a black screen and a combadge.

On the other hand, with mods, its still able to pull off some rather good graphics and has enough gameplay mechanics to challenge players even now. From a damage system that manages to offer both precision attacks on specific systems though to simple "Shoot'em up" depending on your style of play and the ship your flying. You can command the ship directly with manual controls, managing all the ships systems alone. Or you can switch to bridge view and take on the role of captain, giving orders to your crew - crew who have AI that generally speaking reacts well to the situations they face. And both systems work, your not hamstrung regardless of which method you use.

Its one of the few truly good StarTrek games, despite coming out of Activision, and I can't think of another game that has come close to its unique gameplay style and balance.

I just wish the blasted thing wasn't so god damned buggy!

Unfortunately, World of Warcraft is mine... But I don't count my addiction as a 'pet.'

I'll say my pet game is Final Fantasy 9. Everyone I know doesn't like it, but I love it. It's extremely flawed, but really fun because of its flaws.

Baten Kaitos. Great (and unique) RPG, no sequel (there was a prequel, tough) and sadly one of the most underrated game of the last gen, IMO.

Special mention to F-ZERO GX and Rez.

Damn, ninja'd with the first reply. I never understood why people thought Wind Waker was "shit" just because of the cell shaded style. I've beaten the game at least 4 times and have just as much fun each time.

I'll also throw Tales of Symphonia into the mix. Except that that game didn't really have any flaws. It did exactly what is was meant to do. And it did a damn good job doing it.

Thou hast good taste, brother. And I agree with thee.
Indeed..ith.

Also, while I'm here, Resident Evil 4. When that game came out it was fucking fantastic, and it still is, but nobody talks about it anymore.
I do!

Matter of fact you ninja'd me!

Grand Theft Auto IV - Liberty City is just such an amazing technical achievement that I love just endlessly going around it, driving, shooting people, dicking about. I will defend the game from haters on technical grounds alone if I can't defend the gameplay...which is awesome and I don't get people who bash it but eh.

The Elder Scrolls IV OBLIVION. I swear, it is my favourite game EVER. I have never got bored with it, i don't know how you can. I have played it for probably 600+ hours and d'you know what? Theres still more to do. Always that new little patch of land to investigate, that new enchanted item to find. Did you know theres a named silver war axe calld ''defiler''? or a named dwarven battle axe called ''naked axe''? I even found fin gleam. Without help. if you know what fin gleam is, you're probably gonna find that hard to beleive, and i respect that.
Did i mention i love argonians? And i mean i LOVE argonians...

A close second would be Fallout 3, another Bethesda game. Played it a little less than oblivion. And i mean a little.

And in terms of waiting for a sequel, Timesplitters. I'm never giving up on that sequel. Ever.

morrowind is on the same level of awesomeness as oblivion. I hope TES V surpasses it. Won't be an easy task though. But bethesda won't dissapoint us.

Mine is actually a kind of a lesser known game, it's an item shops tale, it's so simple yet so interesting, never before has doing the same thing over and over kept me so happy :)

Best first reply I've ever seen: both my personal favorites from both series.

Also, since I forgot to post my own pick in here: Megaman Legends 1 or 2. Endlessly buggy, cheesy storyline, awkward graphics but just running around the world and the ruins (all of which being surprisingly varied and well designed) treasure hunting and upgrading my gear was a blast I shamelessly endorse.
