i don't really have any particular phobias, as i can rationalize most of my fears.

dogs, maybe? most people consider it irrational, but i cant see why. dogs are scary.

the only scary thing about small insects is the possibility that i might crush them while trying to put them outside - and i hate crushing small insects.

heights are just awesome

fear of thieves is rational - i have been stolen from many times
fear of losing my temper is rational - i lose my temper badly
fear of planes crashing into my house is rational - they are low flying and piloted by amateurs (i hate living near a private airfield)

i think that's about it...

Bee's, Wasps, Hornets, any other stinging insect. I have no idea why. I have never been stung by one. I just flee for a few minutes as soon as I see or here anything like them.

Even if it's a bluebottle.
This. I have been stung 3 times by wasps. They are little fucking bastard they are! As soon as I hear any form of buzzing I run away with my head between my legs screaming. I hate them.

Heights. Only way to face it is to convince myself I'm on a chairlift.
MaxTheReaper-no real reason, just irrational fear.
Mods-people who have pretty rockin' power scare me a bit.
Food poisoning-and I work in the foodservice industry. Figure that one out.

Let me be the one to mention the classic cliché before somebody else does:

I suffer from 'hippopotomonstrosesquippediliophobia'. Also known as fear from long words.

Vespidaphobia (made that up, no idea if it's real or not), phobia of wasps. I jump every time I hear something buzzing nearby and I don't know what it is, but it's only wasps that really frighten me (and they're mightily good at that). Even if it's another stinger, like a bee or a bumblebee, it's OK with me. (As a matter of fact, we've had an abundance of bumblebees in our garden for as long as I can remember, and recently a bee colony has made itself a home in an old wasp nest between the roof and the ceiling.)

I also have some acrophobia, I can barely stand straight up on a one-foot-high stool but I'm just fascinated with the view from inside a plane.

Asking people things...

I used to be scared of dogs. But that's because one bit me when I was quite little.

Needles. I am terrified of needles and almost faint when I have to get a shot. In fact, I went to the doctor for a check up earlier this year and had to get a shot. Before they did that, they took my blood pressure and found that it was pretty low. After I had the shot and relaxed, they took it again and it was fine.

Ever since I got stung by a bee I've had an irrational fear of the buzzing noise flying insects make, since I don't know whether it's a bee or not.

Poisonous things
Although i'm not sure if thats a phobia since its perfectly rational, I do think I am a little bit over nervous about them

I have one fear that might be considered a phobia. I cannot stand having an insect touch me. I'm not afraid of insects, I don't feel any sort of fear upon looking at them... unless I think it might try to land on me. If Mr. Bug is touching me, Mr. Bug needs to go away or Mr. Bug goes splat.

I think I can track this fear down to when I was a child. I'd found an old toy car in my backyard, picked it up, and an earwig [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dermaptera] crawled out. I dropped the car into a little kiddie pool (after which about twelve more of them crawled out, one by one, like some disgusting insectoid clown-car routine), but I never found the first one that crawled out, and I was convinced that it would crawl up my sweater and try to get into my ear.

That's not a phobia, that's a legitimate survival instinct.

Syringes. Had to have 4 of them stuck in both of my big toes for an operation. Hated it.
