So I've been sick as a dog lately, and finaly have the strengh to sit up and check emails, sort out finances online, etc (and check the escapist, seriously its a drug).

I've never invested too much thought into 'home remedys' but everyone has their little practise to beat teh flu or some other nasty bug. Mine is curl up, watch some crappy chick flicks (For some reason I don't feel like caving in a zombies head when I'm poorly) and knocking back a lot of sprite. This always makes me feel better even after the intro scene and my first sip of that miricle juice.

What do you do to cure yourself??

Hope it helps

EDIT: Oddly enough I am ill with swine flu at the moment :(

trying to live as normally as possible, makes you really feel better, if you just lie at home it becomes worse, oh and drinking a LOT of water

Kick yourself in the ass, tell your disease to shut the fuck up and let you get on with life. That's what I do. I force myself to get up and go do something, because lying in bed makes me feel fat and useless whereas even doing something as simple as posting on a message board has me awake and aware of the world around me.

There's this stuff my family drinks when poorly, it's warm lemon juice and a bit of sugar. Works well, but doesn't taste that good

Replace most of the coffee I drink with juice made from red and black currant berries. And drink it hot. Plenty of rest with watching old movies or reading if I'm not too sick, once a day I give the house a bit of venting by opening the windows for ten to 15 minutes. Naturally, dress appropriately for this period.

You wouldn't believe how much fresh air helps.

Exercise helped me through swine flu. 100 push ups and sit ups a day.(Over the day as I could only do 10 pushups at a time-20 now).

If I am sick I usually skip all my lectures (except for practicals) since there are lecture recordings done each day for each class, curl up in bed, watch a movie trilogy (usually LOTR), order in some Domino's garlic bread and tank up on OJ. Then I sleep it off.

Sadly though I don't get sick often. *knocks on wood*

I bang my head against a wall, and go do shit. I get bored as hell with a headache at home, because i can't enjoy anything i usually like. so I go to a place i wouldn't enjoy in the first place: school!

I've been pretty bad, first a cold which developed my clockwork ear infection..then two nights ago i had food poisoning, on both occasions I had Orange Lucozade. I dont know what it is, but ever since i was 9-years old my grandmother would always get me a bottle of the orange elixer that seemed to perk me up immensely.

It's all about the orange, can't be the origional flavour. It's just magic.

Water, orange juice, meat and the occasional shot of some sort of spirit to clear my throat and nose (only at the end of the day when heading to bed... and occasionally at breakfast and lunch). Aside from that I get along as normally as possible and spend as much time in the sun as possible.

A tablespoon of honey in hotwater is always good. Many people add lemon, but I am not a fan of hot citrus-y drinks.
