It seems I have a thing for men with swords.

I'm not exactly super into SSBB (I don't own it) but I've been labeled as the annoying guy who somehow manages to survive. I guess my play style with my friends is hit and run(or defend).

I use Link for extremely long survivability and being annoying from a distance since we always play with items turned off, but Link can generate items from his bum. So that's fun. :D

I like using Ike whenever I actually feel like getting involved in the fight a bit. The counter move is always super useful for annoying my friends. :D

Exactly. It has the vast majority of elements the elements of the standard fighting game, namely things like the primacy of reads, a vibrant spacing game (especially true in melee), and many options with their own set of unique options that I they beat and lose to. Beyond movement, I barely touched on what games the games uniqu.
Slow down killer, you're not making much sense. Yes, this game has some of the very basic things that you will find in real fighting games. We can agree on this point, what you seem to miss is that it takes more than sharing the basic traits of a fighter for it rise above the ranks of casual and just for fun as a fighting game.

As far as debating, you haven't actually debated since you haven't brought a single point to the table. All you've done so far is create long-winded that equate to "na na na, I'm not listening".
Excuse me, every one of your posts have been longer than mine.

At least you're willing to admit that your perception rules, and no matter how much evidence there is against your side, you will never yield. Definitely the stupidest position to take in any argument, because new evidence can always change things.
Incorrect again, on several counts. 1. I didn't say I would never yield, I said YOU would never change my mind. There is a difference. 2. "Stupidest" used as a superlative is not correct, you mean "most stupid". 3. While new evidence can indeed change things, you have failed to provide new evidence. Everything you say has been said to me before and since I don't believe that you'll have anything truly new to say on the subject I don't believe that YOU will be able to change my mind.

Whatevs, you're a lost cause, but there are plenty of others, mostly people who actually attend fighting game tournaments instead of trying to force opinions with no basis in fact on everyone they can.
LoL. Yes I'm a lost soul because smash brothers is not a real fighting game to me. Certainly people who make assumptions about where other people have or have not been in their lives are not fanboy lost causes themselves though...

listen kiddo, I'm not going to detail the tournaments for real fighting games that I've been in. In fact now that you've resorted trying to slag me down about my experience just because I think smash bros is a casual waste of time (whose trying to force what opinion on someone else now?) I think you've proven that you really don't have any new evidence to bring to this conversation. Now I'm bored with this "discussion". I'm done with you. I wont be back to this thread, and I certainly won't be replying to you anymore, not that I think that will stop you from trying to have the last word. Enjoy your casual fighter and I'll keep my fingers crossed for your move up to the big leagues.

Yet you chose to ignore any and all points presented against you, without so much as a response, which leads to the obvious conclusion that nobody will convince you otherwise, you've made your choice.

As far as "lack of tournament expirience", heh maybe you have some, but you're certainly acting like the online warriors, so I have to ask, how does that reflect on you?

Why do you assume that smash is the only fighting game I play competitively?

Wow, people talking about skill and such in reference to smash bros? lol.
1337 melee trolz.

A good player will beat a bad one in this game aswell, so yeah there is skill involved.
You misinterpret me. I'm no fan of melee either. Both suck and are weak casual fighters that deserve the same amount of serious attention as mario kart wii.
What makes you say that? The reason mario kart is not taken seriously is the huge gap between chartacters and cars and the randomness of the items allowing a person winning the whole race from the start to get dead last at the last moment through no fault of his or her own with them having any way to avoid it.

As far as I know super smash bros has none of these issues and actually features a line of uniques characters who move fastly different and feature unique moves and play styles. There is also a clear skill difference unlike many fighting games you cannot button mash smash bros because it will not lock your oppoent like in many other fighters as most attacks hit you away. If you ever play the game seriously you can see a clear difference in skill levels between people none of which is luck because every move is planned and timed.
