I think trolls are interesting Shadowrun characters.

I think cave trolls are a bit yikes for my taste.

I think internet trolls are to be stepped on to make a squish sound, and stepped on harder when they complain, which is always. It's funny when their little games backfire.

It's funny when intelligent and unexpected. Otherwise, no.

For instance, that guy that says he works at McTrolls and went to Troll university on his Facebook page will never be funny.

Personaly I think it's funny when happens to other people but not me. I am writeing this on a iPad 2
And what about griefing
Funny and I am all for it as long as it is in good taste and intelligently done. Sadly there are alot of fail trolls so I am constantly doing what I can to devise smart troll methods just for laughs whenever I'm with my friend.

Don't feed the trolls.

Trolls come in two varieties: Attention whores and Straight A*holes.

There is nothing good about trolling. At least according to my definition. To me trolling is the act of intentionally pissing someone (or some people) off for no reason. You can claim it's funny, but in my opinion it's only funny when you know the person. That's just giving your friends crap, which is kind of expected. When you intentionally piss random strangers off on purpose, you're just a dick.

I'm less annoyed by trolls than by people who feed them and engage them.

You know (or have good reason to believe) that this person is saying X deliberately in order to offend people, rile you up and start a fight with you, so why do you respond by fighting? It makes you look stupid. It makes your point look stupid. Why are you arguing with them? To prove you're right? IT'S A TROLL. IF YOU ARGUE WITH THEM, THEY'VE WON. THEY'VE PISSED YOU OFF, AND THEY HAVE SOMEONE TO KEEP TROLLING AND MAKING THEIR COMMENTS AT.

Seriously, people who engage trolls have to be the rock stupidest people.

Trolling is fun when it involves stringing along people who are to serious about certain things. Being the devil's advocate if you will

Trolling obnoxious little kids in games is always fun.

The key word is obnoxious, I wouldn't antagonise some kid who's just having fun.

Solve media: "Do as you are told" kinda eery.

Unless it is construed as comedic for both the troll and subjects of the troll, it should never be done.

^this.

It can be funny but trolling on easy prey (on purpose) is sad. I mean, you are intentionally pissing off naive people in hopes that they will do something stupid for your own amusement. Trolling an 8 year girl is not really an accomplishment.

I think it brings the internet together :3
I definitely love when I find a troll in real life who says he is a troll.
Starting havoc together creates a sense of nostalgia and fun ;D

I've never understood it. I've heard the phrased more to describe points of view that people dont agree with than any actual trolling (By trolling I mean posting things that are OBVIOUSLY supposed to be incendiary without being thought provoking)
I dislike the overuse of the term.

If it is intelligent or clever I don't mind, or if it's against someone who really deserves it. However, as a general rule I don't like it.

I like the classy trolling where you fool someone into believing something ridiculous and watch them flail in confusion.
Classy trolling is really the only kind. Well, for me, anyway.

As for me, I only troll in real life. It's just so much more satisfying that way. Of course, RL trolling usually takes the form of "using dry wit to call attention to how incredibly stupid a person is, and/or how seriously they are taking themselves".

Or, if you prefer, "being a prick to an even bigger prick".
