What's YOUR strategy?

Talking about FPS's mostly. What do you do first? Does it depend on what map you're on, or what game? Do you go in with a character with high explosives, do achieve the goals before your enemy has time to react, or do you hang back as a sniper at the very start, and begin picking off what the riflemen pass up on? Or are you just one of the average, no-nonsense players who picks up a machine gun and uses pure skill and luck to achieve victory?

I'd say I usually grab an assault rifle, stay low and move in between buildings, looking through windows and peeking around doors like the AI does in Modern Warfare. Either that, or grab a shotgun.

And of course I enjoy sniping. Who doesn't? Counter-sniping especially. Always amazes me how other snipers stay in the exact same place they killed me in and expect me not to pick them off. Sigh.

Generally setting up ambushes...

Find somewhere that's just naturally overlooked, lie in wait with a machine gun.

Then it's just a matter of time...

I like having a Strategy that is ready for anything.
I usually use guns that Have a good Range and Damage, and a few Grenades for long Distance.
Most of the time i like to stick to the Edge of the map if its an open one, taking out people trying to hide.
But if its a smaller more closely packed map i tend to Find a section and guard it.

I just rush everything using shotguns, mostly. Swords if they have them.

Mainly get close and around them. I try to mess with there field of vision and predict there actions of the actions I make so I can drive them into doing what I want.

So in essence I manipulate them. I'm still perfecting it and I need to spend a great deal of time in a game before I can even attempt it. It helps to picture what your going to do before you do it.

Depends, I usually go for the Snipe but there seems to be an epidemic of snipers in almost every game I play. So when that is not an option I usually gor for the guys that deals the most damage and go kimikaze. I also prefer faster moving classes then slower.

Apart from anything else, it usually instils irrational panic in people.


In TF2, the FPS I play most of, I usually go a no-nonsense combat class first (Soldier, Demoman, Heavy if I feel cheap), or Medic if our team needs one. I then switch to a more specialised class depending on what we're up against, and my own team's make-up. Or Gunslinger Engie/Pyro if the other team needs to be shown explicitly that they suck.

Mostly use stealth, I'll grab up a sniper and head far out and just shoot and shoot :3
Or if its objective based, take the long way to the objective and complete it

i just take my trusty assault rifle run into battle and with a perfectly stable scope shoot as many people as possible. the bad news is i have horrible luck it seems, when i watch my friends playing see they leave themselves open taking situations I would never take because it leaves them easy targets but my safety of taking cover would get me killed that and the fact i am not usually following a party of people but instead they follow me.

I mostly set up an ambush, in the case of the Call of Duty games, pull out my sidearm and empty it, so they know where I am.

Pull out big gun and wait.

I "stealth rambo".

I sneak and knife my way to a flanking position, or even to the enemy base, and then just go ballistic. Grenades every where, shooting constantly.

I do the whole cloak and dagger thing. whatever assault rifle with silencer, and just skulk around away from my team. Don't aim for most kills, just good kills and no deaths.

every fps shooter i can think of right now, usually amounts to charging in and shooting anything not you shaped, and taking cover when your health is low or your screen is blood covered. In some third person shooters i try getting a little more clever like sneaking around back or laying some mines down, and even picking up a sniper rifle to pick off some enemies before hand.

well i only really play halo online lol. My strategy is generally to run in, maybe kill or die a few times in my huint for the shot gun or what i call the Mini Shotgun lol (the one handed version effectively) then i just go around killing ppl...

I run around flailing like a headless chicken, occasionally get a lucky kill, and then ragequit as the sore loser I am.

I like to grab an assault rifle and split off from my team in attempt to cut off the other team if they're coming up behind us. And if they aren't, it still has its uses for flanking the other team. I also enjoy using shotguns, they're heavy hitters when I need them.

I usually just run from cover to cover, mowing down whoever is within close range, often getting to higher ground around frequently-traveled areas. Somehow, that works pretty well. Unless I'm low on health, I rarely stay in one place very long.
