Honestly, I don't give a shit. It's all about culture, what's acceptable and what isn't. I think that puts most of the intrigue in nudity.

I currently live in Vermont where people are allowed to be naked as long as it can't be seen from a road used by cars (rather than a footpath) (yes, people in Vermont can hunt naked.) Unless you're in Brattleboro in which case you may be completely naked as long as you are not aroused.

Controversial thread is controversial? Sorry, but... fail thread is fail.

Clothes have multiple purposes. They keep us warm. They give us protection from places we might otherwise get all scratched up. They also prevent massive orgies from taking place during business meetings.

Suppose the lady giving the speach is INCREDIBLY attractive. So are a few other ladies at the meeting, and so are many of the guys. They'd start talking about a business proposal and end up having fun with each other on the table. And considering that people can be very judgemental on physical attractiveness (even if they don't admit it, everyone is to a point) people who aren't blessed physically would be ridiculed left and right, if not by words it would be by the looks people give them.

Nudity has its place. Among people that think the same way, at home when you're alone, skinny dipping or, of course, sex (and sometimes not even then) but I think clothes are a necessity.

And if that didn't help you put things in perspective... without clothes, you'd have to see your mother naked. ALL THE TIME. Don't even try to act like that wouldn't bother you.

EDIT:

Nudity facinates me(no not in that way), take for instance breasts, what is it about this particular part of a woman's body that's so incredibly arousing?
I think it has a lot to do with it being taboo, imagine a world where everyone covered up their ears, would it make ears instantly sexy?
Breasts are an intense pleasure center on the female body. Plus, you ever played with them? They're fun! :D
Yes yes, thats all ture and good and all. But we only react to a woman that way becuase it has become taboo, alot of getting aroused is the exitment of seeing or feeling some thing unorthadox and new. Thats how a fetish works.

I admit its rather sad that some thing as natural as nudity has become some thing to be ashamed of. I do belive that women should have to right to be topless in public. I live in Miami so its over baringly hot. Hurricanes knock out the power making it even more unbearable, gas is expansive so we cant keep on running our genorators. I belive that being topless should be excuasabel in such cases.

Besides Im more of an ass man any ways .

The problem people have with nudity stems from religion. The main example most will relate to is the "Adam & Eve" story. Practically God says "nudity is bad". So religion has once again influenced society in a negative way (big surprise there).

Nudity is not bad, we (as a society) have a negative view thrashed upon it. We should love our bodies and never be ashamed of them. Everyone is beautiful, its just that we as individuals have prefferences and the accumulation of those preferences make up a majority, or society's viewpoint. Its unfortunate that this majority is so obscured and faulty, with too much emphasis on outer "beauty".

Seeing others naked bothers some because they were brought up to think its wrong to see the "privates" of others. Honestly it wouldn't bother me whether the world goes around nude or clothed, because it really doesn't matter.

Being naked is a freeing experience. Not bound or discomforted by the confines of our clothing. Clothing does have practical purposes of course. Keep us warm and, at times, safe. Also there is an eroticism that comes with the removal of clothing (or the teasing wiht), to finally be able to see your lover in all of her/his glory.

I have come to find that some of the happiest moments are when your able to be nude. for example: i'm currently in a relationship and the most wonderul place in my mind that i could be is snuggled in bed with the one i love, completely nude.

Maybe the human race was never meant to be clothed, as much as we are at least. There certianly is too much of a negative light on nudity. If nudity was more accepted, there would be a lot less "taboos".

Also, You certianly don't emerge from the womb with a cardigan on do ya! :)
Birthday Suit Up!
Umm they were nude in Eden, and when they were banished they were clothed,so i believe the message is in paradise cloths are not necessary, and it is a man made invention which is why it was not until they were out of Eden that they wore cloths because they were no longer perfect and in gods image :S. I don't know if this is correct but that's my take on it, but I am not for nudity, just thought id point that out. Umm if you want to go to a nudist colony then gratz but i don't think public nudity is really acceptable. if you want to be nude in your home then no problem, i fall victim to that as well but it is not socially acceptable in the most part, (although with the way things are going in the media, like making movies show more and more nudity as they go on, like wedding crashers, Zack and Miri, and well pretty much of any of Seths films).

If you've already read the fairytales, you should know that in them God doesn't say "nudity is wrong". You said that

So, I was setting the record straight by throwing fairytales at you.

I don't personally have a problem with nudity
In the privacy of my own home

However, as many people have said, there are others who have a problem with it
I for one would not like to see a nudist walking down the street, there are various accepted issues with it. Most of which have been stated here

While I don't personally enjoy being naked in the presence of others I don't really care if someone wants to be naked around me. However I might just be used to it since I had a roommate who was a nudist, and as an art student I have to study the figure anyway. But I have a positive opinion of nudity in general.

I personally have nothing against it. For me it also depends on the situation.

A)Male nudity in movies/tv- Meh, whatever doesn't bother me, I mean, I have the same thing so it's not new.
B)Female nudity in movies/tv- Meh, I've got a wife who's body I can look at any time I want to get turned on(will spare details =P)
C)Public nudity of either sex- Hey that's your choice, but be ready for SOMEONE to mock and judge you

So the only thing that would ever bother me really, is if it's in front of my son. Even then, I'd just explain to him why/what's going on and then move on

Are you serious? How can you tell a woman is aroused without invading her personal space? I'd love to see that on a police report. "Subject reported aroused while exposed on main street." On the way there they pass a naked person and wave at them and they find the guy with the "bone-man" and say "You sicko! Think of the children!!" lolz XD
