Alright, I promise that I'm not going to SPAM this thread asking people about their jobs but...

Dude (generic DUDE!, not me calling you a guy as your profile marks you female :), is that job actually really sweet or does it have a lot of crap to deal with that makes it not worth it?

I have a full time 9-5 job already but I've always wanted to go to Vallyefair (a local theme park) for their ValleyScare (where they have haunted mansions and have a ton of actors doing what you do).

So is the job as awesome as I imagine it to be or does it actually kind of suck?

I used to do awesome stuff like climbing towers, fighting bears, working on remote (and I do mean remote) radio communication sites, radio systems, and working with telemetry and automation.

Now I just run a few stores and try to pretend I like doing it while I watch the techs have all the fun. I still sneak away when I can to box the odd bear or two.

I work in a hospital lab and since more and more things have become changed over from manual to being run by/in machines my job has essentially become glorified button pusher and troubleshooter. It's boring and monotonous, but it pays the bills.

I currently work for a major aussie bank selling personal loans, insurance, all that bank stuff.

People are generally quite misinformed about their money, or simply just don't have any understanding of their products (Nobody readings contracts either).

So i get plenty of people angry at us because they've done something which is wrong. That sucks.Oh and having to work 3 days a week, 2 of which are the weekend sucks.

Still, the pay is great while i'm studying a dual degree in IT and Corporate system, aka studying to be a system analyst.

Can't wait for working 6 days a week to end.

Pay sucks but job is amazing. You can call me a dude as in a male if you want. I play a gentleman in my maze that I work in and told the guy in my room to call me by male pronouns to the people who walk through. I'm genderfluid anyway and go between male and female constantly so I don't get offended by a small thing as pronouns. Last years things that didn't make it worth it: assholes who felt the need to hit me in the back of the head because it was funny to them(they got kicked out of my maze), people who would come up to me and scream in my face right against my mask so that the scream echoed and I damn near lost my hearing, and people who'd get close to me and go "I can see your eyes" or the people who would bring children/significant others/family/friends who got scared and would get pissy and in our faces about how we shouldn't scare them and to leave them alone. This year's list: People who bring children/significant others/family/friends who get scared and get pissy and in our faces about how we shouldn't scare them and leave them alone. I play an opium addict who has apparently lost his marbles because I keep shouting for imaginary chickens and imaginary heartbeats and ravens cawing. And contort my body to move creepily around the room. And put crazy ass contacts in. Either my spirals, my electric blue black light activated ones, or my grey dragon eye ones. Or I mix and match them. Minimum wage, only get about a month of it every year. But so much fun.

I work 7-10pm at a shipping company. It's mostly just scanning and sorting boxes. The co-workers are fun enough and I get to keep the contents of any "damaged" boxes. My best haul so far was a 5-pound mixed sack of yogurt-raisins, pretzels, and cashews.
The bachelor life...

I bartend at a very nice pub. We have something like 150 different beers. I like it a lot, especially when it's not that busy, and I get to talk to the regulars, and spend a long time recommending beers to people. If I get thirsty, I can drink free pepsi, and if I'm hungry, I can order a free pizza, nachos or a pretzel. Otherwise I can buy sushi (best in town) at half price from the restaurant upstairs. If I need a break, I can take one whenever I feel like it, because we're always 2 people attending the bar. Sometimes on weekends I switch shifts with the bouncer, just to do something different. Being that it's a calm environment for conversation and beer tasting/drinking, not getting shitfaced, I mostly just go around checking ID, shushing on people that are being to loud, and talk to people, making sure they're having a good time.

EDIT: Also, most of my coworkers are very friendly and fun people.

i'm IT in an hospital. well, not only one hopital, but also all the clinics attached to it in our region. i think it's fun, and it change from regular it jobs because you never know what crazy thing might happen. Last week i had to change RAM in a computer that was in the morgue, about three feet from a dead dude, and i know that tomorrow i have to change a monitor in one of the operating room, so i have to dress like a surgeron to go in there. Part of my job is also on the road a lot. Some months i can do up to 400 km just by going to clinics to change a keyboard, a mouse, or install a computer.

It's also weird to think that if i'm not doing my job correctly, people might die.

Work in pre press, graphic design and stationary printing.

There is a good amount of problem solving and creativity involved. On a slow day I spend a lot of time talking to my coworker (senior) about gaming and music.

Its a relaxed office environment and I work with excellent people.

There are a lot worse places I could have ended up.

I wake up at 3am and build up news shows until 7am. Then I Director until 9am.

Its exhausting to wake up so early yet demand you mind be so sharp, but it can be fun at times.
