Grab near by space heater and book it for car.
Get in car and drive to mall.
Use key to get into back room of sporting goods ware house.
Grab rifles... lots and lots of ammo but cant forget the M107. (I kid you not we have one and you can buy it for 4000 USD if you want it.)
Get back in car and head for the hills.
I live in Colorado so the mountains are pretty nice to be in. If all else fails I will head for Florida get on the boat and live on the sea or possibly the Makin Atoll. (Always wanted to do that anyways)

OHH... Almost forgot grab my good friend Katie in Wyoming (I have trained her well in the art of zombie survival)
Im also working on creating the Replicators. Id become one of them and be their supreme leader.
If you don't know what a Replicator is here:http://stargate.wikia.com/wiki/Replicator
Again. You are assuming you will even be able to make it there. Why not stock up NOW, then when SHTF, head for the hills immediately?
Also, don't weight yourself down completely with weaponry. You will need standard survival supplies, and food. A .22lr is ideal, as the rifles are light and small. Ammo is plentiful, and you can carry a ton.
.223/5.56 is also good in that aspect.
A shotgun (with buckshot, slugs, and birdshot) will be best for getting wild food.

NOTE: This applies for nearly ALL STFH scenarios.

I would grab a broom handle, as its the best weapon I've actually trained with, plus it has a good reach. also grab as much food and water as I can carry (in backpack and panniers), and a map of the area. I will then get on my bike and head for the nearest national park, there to wait until I have no more food, and must go find some more. for this reason i will pick foods that have a good energy-to-volume ratio, such as salami and honey, as well as multi-vitamin tablets, for whichever vitamin i have inevitably forgotten to bring. apples are good, as they are fruit that doesn't need to be refrigerated. the bike is the most important thing. a compass is probably a good idea, i have a mountaneer's one in my desk. lessee, pencil and sharpener for triangulating my position on the map, ruler too. geeze... i'm gonna have to make a checklist, i'm never going to be able to remember all this while being chased by zombies...

Actually I feel pretty safe. About half an hour away is Fort Bragg, home of the U.S. Army Special Forces, 82nd Airborne, and Delta Force. Used to have freaking A 10 Warthogs there too, but they moved away. In the even of a Zombie apocalypse in my town, I'd head over that way.
I love how everyone near a military base plans to go there in the even of zombies. Don't you think that EVERYONE will head there in such a situation? How do you think the military will react to thousands if not millions of people congregating around their base? What happens when, as is inevitable, the sick and infected in the masses start to turn? How long do you think the military will bother trying to distinguish infected from civilian in the heaving, panicking masses? In the subsequent confusion, what do you think the chances of the infection spreading within the base are? Even if it did not, the rapidly growing mass of infected outside the gates is likely to either break the defences through shear weight or pile corpses high enough to climb over the barriers, thus neatly negating the security of the base. Again, assuming a successful defence by the military, how are the remaining troops and any civilian survivors going to far psychologically after so much killing, possibly even of friends and loved ones?

No, if you thought about it for a little while, you'd see that it would be far better to look after yourself and your loved ones first, secure yourself for the short-term (around a week), then seek out further supplies, safe houses and other survivors as the urban horde disperses enough that moving around at day is potentially possible.

Eventually, with some luck, and military or government organisation surviving will be sending out search and rescue parties and it is THEN and ONLY THEN that you would go to their base; Initial pandemonium over, perimeter secured, troops adjusted to trauma of killing large numbers of humans, and systems in place to take in and safely process survivors such as yourself without letting in the infected.

If no organisation survives, then it is highly unlikely that the human species will survive, since the available gene pool will be too small to support many generations of children, particularly if most of the survivors are hiding out in small groups (or, judging from lots of you lot, alone... indefinitely... killing anyone who comes near by... bunch of psychos...). Farming would be dangerous, and few of us would know enough to be able to live indefinitely off the land, and with no industry to produce food eventually the survivors would either starve or be driven out of their bolt holes to forage, probably resulting in their demise.

So, basically keep to yourself initially, wait for the hordes to thin, then seek out other survivors for mutual protection and await rescue. In the event of no rescue, hope that there's enough of you to secure enough arable land to establish sufficient food production... and that at least one of you knows about farming. Otherwise kiss your ass good-bye or join one of those bandit groups that goes around killing everyone else off in a desperate bid to get a higher kill count than the zombies before there's no-one left to kill. The idiots.

That depends. I have a laptop, so...
My Office: There's a small knife, a stapler, paperclips for them to slip on, lamps, and various heavy things to throw.
Bedroom: I keep a metal baseball bat under my bed. I live in the suburbs and there's never any crime anywhere around here, but you never know.
Also, if all else fails, I could just use my laptop itself.

I would first have to stop wondering how the slow moving maundering dead managed to get to my door without me even noticing. After that it is hacky hacky with my long sword, arm M. with my bastard sword for support while J. probably bitches he can't find the key to the gun safe....

I'd grab a blunt, ammoless weapon, a lighter, some rope (you never know), and a water purification system. I would then get a small motorcycle and ride off into the night. I would need a small BMX kind of dirtbike to make it practical. It's not as loud, it's versatile, it can go across various kinds of terrain, and in the worst case scenario, I can carry it.

I own many guns so until I get to them I would bludgeon the zombies with my guitar and once my house was secure I would hold up in the basement until the rest of humanity got organized and gangs of rednecks gunned down all the zombies.

1.) Run downstairs and grab two kitchen knives for protection.
2.) Grab my Xbox 360 and games.
3.) Grab the keys to the minivan and start driving.
4.) Stop by my friend's house to grab a few of his shotguns, hunting rifles and handguns.
5.) Go pick up some other friends to help me shoot the shotguns, hunting rifles and handguns.
6.) Drive to Colorado and hole up in a ski resort (everyone knows that zombies can't survive in cold weather).
7.) Play Infection on Halo 3.

If the zombies are immune to cold, then

6.) Head to the military fort near my city.
7.) Hole up there using the tanks, jets and helicopters to ensure my survival.
8.) Play Infection on Halo 3.

Sitting at your Comp right now, if the Undead starting swarming in through the main entrance, what (real world) items do you have to aid in your defence? And what is your exit strategy?

1. I'd grab the huge 4-cell torch under my bed for clobber time, there's a fire extinguisher on my landing that could back a wallop but would the spray be of any use?

2. I'd avoid the knives in my kitchen and being in an apartment I don't have any garden tools. The window next to my PC has a balcony beneath it that I could jump to the roof of my car.

3. Realise I forgot my keys and get devoured.

(Edit:)
Just to clarify for peoples's responses:

Zombies are slow & shambling but vast in number (streets littered with them)
Severe Brain trauma is the only thing that kills em
Zombies can unnaturally sense where the living are, i.e.if you are the last person on earth at the North Pole, zombies at the South Pole will start making their way towards you.
Only being bitten, or mauled ALOT will turn you, Blood sprays are icky, but thats it.
Animals bitten by, or feeding on zombies will turn, so undead walking along the bottom of the ocean to get to you will eventually get nibbled by meat eaters then swim off to hunt their own living kind.
Military/Police unorganised (no change there then) so no city purging bomb drops.
Angelina Jolie will not accept the current predicament as an excuse to repopulate the earth.
Aww, why not Angelina?

Living in a university residence I doubt I would have a good chance... unless you mean the front of the residence - then i'd have a chance because most of the rooms can be locked up.

Here's what I would do:

Option 1: Zombies are in the main room of my apartment

1) Lock my door - unless the zombies have already made it to my room.

2) Put on a bunch of hoodies, maybe my winter coat too for padding and lace up some steel-toe boots.

3) Panic because i'm on the 6th floor.

4) Pile a bunch of heavy books into my backpack to use for a club. Big swings because zombies are not known for their agility. Unless they are a la 28 Days later, and can run me down like a dog.

5) Grab my guitar for a backup - also might get in a zombie's way when they're trying to eat my brains.

6) Fight to the kitchen for better supplies (probably die if they're swarming all over the apartment.)

7) Continue from there whether dead or not.

Option 2: Zombies are in the lobby of the residence

1) Get equipped as in option 1, except not the backpack - grabbing some big knives from the kitchen.

2) If there are a lot of zombies outside, work with the survivors inside to barricade the unlocked areas of the res so we can stockpile food/supplies for a later mad dash for safety.

3) If zombies are already in the hallway, yell for everyone get into my apartment or their own apartments for later communication by phone (unless they are in my room)
4) Try and organize the people near me to fight from the elevator to a car in the parking lot.
5) Continue from there until death/undeath or victory.

Either option:

Get to the local army base and hope they aren't dead already.

That being said, if they were as fast as they were in 28 days later I'd probably be screwed no matter how much planning I had done.

I'd just play Left 4 Dead and turn the sound up really loud so they could all hear. Then they would all run away scared shitless.

well i would first barricade up my house, then get the snowblower from my garage, and take off the gaurd on the front. use that to cut through the zombes to get to the guy who makes metal stuff a few blocks away. if hes already zombified, snowblow him, else get him to help making lots of metal nets, and then attach them to the transformer station behind my house, creating a HUGE electrified grid everywhere. people are smart enough to use rubber boots and not die, but the zombies brains will be electrocuted, hence killing them. this network can be extended slowly untill the entire world is zombie free. and to offset the huge power consumption, it only needs to be on the boarder bewteen normal and zombified, so as they try to get to the living, they are killed.

And actually contributing to the topic, I would run off on the back of thousands of ponies. I would make those zombies fight their way through an army to find me!

I have a wife and best friend who live with me. My wife has a bad knee and my best friend is over 60 (still in decent shape though) so this would slow me down a bit.

I have no guns in my home, but I used to work on a rifle range years ago and have plenty of practice firing them (also taught Archery as a kid at a youth camp).

I have martial arts experience in a few forms which wouldn't do me a world of good really, but I could use the thick heavy wooden poles in my closet (for hanging clothes on) as a sort of Staff to bash in zombies heads initially. I also have 2 propane tanks that I could use to create fairly decent explosions or large fires to hold back zombies while I escaped with my wife/friend and got better weapons.

My best bet would be to kill the zombies on my floor initially and leave my friend/wife behind (with all doors locked and no zombies left on our floor...which owuldn't be that hard) then go and get some better weapons.

I live in Alameda Ca by the water, and I would almost right away travel over to where the boats are docked with my wife/friend and get on a big house boat. I would have them drop me off to run through town quickly with guns collecting plenty of ammunition, gas for the boat, and tons of food and water and then we would head out into the bay where the zombies could not get to us at all.

Then over time I would have us dock quickly for me to run in and collect additional supplies. I would probably also drive plenty of the boats out into the bay and then anchor them there and tie them together, forming a sort of personal floating island (no air in zombies so they won't float so can't reach the island). This would give me a safe place to stock up on supplies including water, medical supplies, generators, books etc. I would then use the radios to listen for other survivors and perhaps try and get a strobe light to create a signal at the dock to show them where to go. Hopefully other people would eventually either think of the same thing or see my signal (or use a radio) and we could get together.

Thats my immediate zombie survival plan.
