I'm only really ever me (As in, let myself be totally relaxed and open) when I'm working on a play with a good cast I can be myself around.

"It's just the Tourette's talking"?

BS. My Tourette's syndrome is one of my traits, why would I blame it for making me act like not-me? It IS part of me.

OT: I never pretend to be someone else. It's too much hard work for an easily wrecked illusion.

I'm always me.
Have you met people who aren't me?
Why would I ever not want to be me?

I'll tell you as soon as I figure out who I am.

Why would anyone object to a sarcastic goofball?

I'm pretty sure I'm mostly me most of the time. Or am I? Hmm... Meh, whatever.

People who hate fun I guess.

I wouldn't know since I tend to ignore them. :D

At home I am a comfortable but lonely person. At work I am a tool that can form to any shape.

I say and do whatever others need me to in social situations, in order for everyone (except myself) to be content.

When I am at home I can be content.

Well, amongst everyone else, I'm thinking "allways, every time".

A shame t'is probably not true.

The first thing to pop up into my mind is "when I'm amongst a group of strangers". Taught myself to rely on my intuition. However, the first few minutes aren't a good example. But as soon as I find familliar ground, I'm all in.

The good thing is, as soon as I'm entirely as myself with someone, it doens't tend to change.

All the time, just different shades. When I'm alone or with friends I'm confident, a slight braggart and even a talkative loon (on forums or through texting for the alone bits).
When at work I'm short and blunt with my interactions with customers and a bit of a clown with my coworkers.
When with strangers I'm stoic and stonefaced and very, very nervous.

All parts of me that come out at different times :D

You're always you. The difficulty comes from perception. The you that exists in your mom's mind, the you that exists in your friend's mind, the you that exists in the mind of the stranger you pass on the subway, even the you that exists in your own mind. Reconciling these differences, between the different yous and the actual you, which even you don't match up with, is where we have issues.

Hmmn there seems to be two main beliefs in this thread:

1-You are what you are in the dark that only when you're completely alone and have no outside factors involved that you can be the true you as any time else you have been altered.

or

2-You are you all the time that those outside factors that influence your behaviour are apart of what makes you-you and how you react to them defines who you are just as much as when your alone so you can never not be you.

As for which I believe and my opinion on when I'm me-I don't know,I think both forms of belief are equally as valid and true depending on how you look at it.

Maybe there is no true you, because we fluctuate and change so much that there is no core you-you're not what you are in the dark because that excludes the rest of the worlds bearing on you-and your not you when you're interacting with the world because then your altered.

Perhaps we are all nobody none of us having any real traits or personality to call our own or maybe we are exactly what we are at the present time and when something changes you that becomes the new you and the old you in no longer true.

Or you are whatever you think you are whatever the image you have of you inside your head is you,the opposite could also be true the true you is the you other see and which only they know.

Really I have no idea-it similar to the question what is the meaning of life,we just don't know and we will never know as such we might as well choose any one of the beliefs I have mentioned and go with that.

P.S. Writing you so many times has caused the word to sound weird when ever I'm thinking of it.

I'm always a different aspect of myself depending on who I am around, sober or drunk. I'm not even sure which me is the real me sometimes...

There's probably several dozen fragments of me that I flip between schizophrenically, might explain why my attitude remains the same yet my mood changes between frothing delusion, giggling madness, unusually happy, hate spewing and much more for one emotion... which is usually spite or anger.

I'd make an attempt to be poignant, but I feel it'd be wasted.

I can put on a veneer just fine, and I will occasionally when dealing with people I'm less than well-inclined to talk to.

But I'm generally 'me' in my day-to-day moments, whether it be grouchy and in a bad mood, silly and jokey, or doubled over in pain, blubbering like a baby. On a related note, kidney stones hurt.
