When did you first jump?

I remember getting Mario 64 for a birthday around when I was 5, 6 or 7. I can even remember what my first jumps were, I was running forward and then jumped, then I landed and jumped again but this time a bit higher, I then landed and jumped even higher and I think Mario then flipped in mid air.
