When I started referring to certain 15-18 year olds as "little boys" without a hint of irony. Not all of them, mind you, just a specific type, fanboys for the most part.

I realised I'm getting older when I played my first FPS and started talking about it with my friend(s).

I was 12 at the time.

I'm now 14, I feel 16, people think i'm 18/19, and one person thought I was 21.

By god, what the fuck's wrong with me??? I'M A FREAK!

Ooh, actually, here's a good'un.

I spent two years on Second Life, and no-one figured out I was a child without me telling them. I started when I was twelve.

To quote a wise member of my peer group:

People usually think I'm about 20 or so, but that's just 2 years off. Having ones age mistaken by 7 years when you're an adolescent is rather crazy.

I started to feel old when I reminisced with some friends about the days of '90s Saturday morning cartoon shows like Recess. I actually felt old when I learned that my ex was getting married.

When I turned 26 and realized that it put me into the "26-39" demographic. Ugh.

And my first video game was Pitfall. I'm a dinosaur. :)

I'm not chronologically old, if anything I'm a damn kid (I'm 20), but my attitude, demeanor and over all outlook on life would have me be a grumpy old man, and I realized this the other day:

I was on break at work. I work at a clothing store in the local shopping mall and I'm sitting in the food court mindlessly watching people when I noticed a retarded man standing in the middle of the lobby. His shirt was a bright orange and yellow striped polo tucked into his shorts his white socks pulled high past his ankles, and his baseball cap covered some of his forehead as he smiled, beamed rather, holding a bag from Gamestop. The man was happy, elated, piss-fucking happy. He had gone to the mall and to the game store all by himself and bought himself a new game and he could hardly contained himself until he got back home so he could play his brand new game. He waddled over to the alcove and stood to wait for his ride and I watched for a good fifteen minutes as he waited knowing his ride was late as he watched the windows, but still that bright smile never faded.

It was at this point where I had the realization. Not only am I a grumpy SOB, I can't remember the last time, if ever, that I was retardedly happy. And at this point, I nearly broke down...so weak.

I used to be able to stick one of my legs behind my head. If I tried that now, I'd need the attention of several chiropractors.

You know what the worst part is? I'm only fifteen.

It's actually quite funny to see their faces when they realise how old I actually am, when that one person who guessed that I was 21 found out my real age she just stood blankly at me with her eyes open and her mouth agap.

It was so freakin' halarious.

But yeah, it shows how old I am/feel...

I'm 21

1) Threw my back out assembling my new computer chair.
2) Make jokes about SARS and nobody knows what I'm talking about.
3) Bring up memories of Tank Wars (or BOMB if you prefer) and nobody understands.
4) Someone brought up an old friend to which I said, "Wow, I haven't seen her in 10 years!"
5) Scratched my back and found hair.
6) Talk about how long it took to download Team Fortress Classic on Dial-Up.
7) Read news stories on the internet and think, "What's wrong with kids today?"
8) Metabolism slowed down.

Despite overwhelming evidence, I refuse to accept myself as old.

Nothing against our younger members, but your not old if you:

1. Are at this moment still going through puberty.
2. See a pediatrician when you get sick.
3. Saw your first naked woman on a computer.
4. Have never been to a drive in.
5. Don't remember the creepy animetronic band at Showbiz Pizza. ("What's Showbiz???")
6. Consider SNES and N64 retro gaming.
