I am a very private person and don't really show much emotion or affection to anyone, public or not and I prefer when people around me do the same. Though that is either some undiagnosed mental condition or just me being anti social so I don't think my opinion is valid on this subject.

I think that once things start to get incredibly like im sure they did for you thats when the line has been crossed.
Once that happens I think its fair game to try and put a stop to it they've had their fun and now I get mine.
Its just unfortunate for them that my fun involves putting a stop to theirs in an inventive way.

Two weeks or so back I saw two backpackers basically eating each other's faces while standing in the middle of the train station, blocking lots of people from passing. That to me is taking it too far.

As for myself, I'd hold hands every now and then, generally be close to her, perhaps a little kiss. But nothing more than that. Not that it matters, being single and all.

Tongue.

Maybe it's prudish, but I dont see the reason for making out and such in public. Plus when I see people snogging in public I get an awful urge to make a loud slurping noise.

I'll give my boyfriend a kiss and a cuddle in public but getting busy is for behind closed doors.

The only problem I see with the whole story was that they were doing it over you. One of them should've asked to switch seats with you instead of doing what they did.

Quite so... one couple I know limit their PDAs to kisses on the cheek, while my sister only ever hugs her fiance in public. I only go so far as to peck my partner on the lips and leave it at that. But the sight of two people (irrespective of gender pairing) tongue fencing or playing 'find the epiglottis' is somewhat unsettling/gross... *shrug* I'm usually tempted to pull up with a bag of rotten fruit and a deck-chair and start heckling.

So, how'd you get stuck between the face-eaters?! o_O'

And how British it would be to not really do anything about it.

Why didn't you just not sit in between them?

I think a better question would be why you put up with them holding hands and going all Adams family across you.

You've got me pegged :) You can take the girl out of Britain but you can't take Britain out of the girl. I arrived late and had to get a chair from another table, upon which the couple separated so that I could fit in. It seemed a bit rude to then ask to swap places after they'd made an effort. Also, neither of them have much of a sense of humour when it comes to their relationship (as I have learnt the hard way) so I couldn't take my usual approach of laughing/throwing balled up napkins at them. Anyway, I've learnt my lesson!

LOL, noticed Italian on your profile and thought... 'nah...(!)'

Anyway, could've side-stepped it with something like 'oh no, don't want to get between you two' and found another pair to sit between... or something... yeah, I'm not good with this sort of thing either... >_> ...

Though I would guess that the couple in question aren't exactly given to foresight or tact... (no disrespect...)

I don't really mind, until bed creaking, moaning, grunting or squelching noises disturb my sleep.. that is my limit, do what you like (if you're brave, intoxicated or horny enough) just don't keep me up all night until you've finished

Do not get in the way of my sleep

More OT: I don't care what people do in public, besides wouldn't have the courage to ask them if they'd awfully mind if they got a good padded room..

If people who are supposed to keep me company is constantly snogging, or someone's starting to get naked and kinky in public, they're doing something wrong. Oh, and loud snuggle-talk makes me vomit. WHY DO PEOPLE EVEN DO THAT ITS HORRIBLE ARGGH.

Other than that, I don't really give a damn. Kissing, hugging, holding hands, an occasional slap on the bum, those kinds of things don't bother me.
I may or may not do most of these things as well. Possibly a bit too often. I'm sorta infatuated right now. ._.

I loathe it!

I don't want to see two people eating each other faces, especially if it is just the 3 of us. You're sat there like "what to do, what toooo doooo" and there going at it like it's a championship game final!

Why not just interact with all the people around you and then when you and your partner are alone, then do couple stuff.

Sure a peck on the cheek and hand holding is peachy but full on 2 cannibals having an eating contest on each other is too far!

captcha: oh, lord .... that is rather fitting!

To be honest, I don't really mind. It does kinda irk me when I get the feeling that the people doing it are only doing so to show off. That's more-or-less high school exclusive, so I don't have to put up with it anymore, although I guess it happens in clubs too (which I don't go to). But it's only a minor passing annoyance.

Hrm, I guess it's also irritating when you're hanging out with friends and the friend(s) are are in (a) relationship(s) are kinda going at it in front of you. I just find it disrespectful and rude, especially if I'm the only one there, leaving me to awkwardly stare at them until they finish.

Otherwise, you know what? There could be an random couple having sex on a table in a bar, and as long as it wasn't my table, I'd just roll my eyes and outside that not really give a damn. Although, if I were to come back to that pub, I'd probably avoid that table.

LOL, no, unfortunately!! XD

Though given how many times I've been right in affairs such as these (*look of haughty superiority* !!) maybe I should become a shrink! ¬_¬

When you do what I did last Tuesday. Sorry, people, but it was the most isolated place we could find on such short notice. And at least we weren't having sex.
