What is the status quo on drinking? do you find it unattractive if a person is "too" drunk? I personally stop at about 4 beers, because I don't like to get to the point in which I cannot control my actions.
Same here, man. I wouldn't want to get wasted at the parties I go to. There's no way all the woo girls there are clean. That enough is my motivation not to get anything more than pleasantly tipsy.

when I have had my beverage of choice. If I want another, I check if I'm drunk. If yes, I don't get another one.

I have to agree with you guys; I've seen enough people make absolute fools of themselves through getting wasted that I'd much rather get a pleasant buzz from the alcohol and enjoy myself than be the topic of conversation the next day... "Did you see that guy last night, what a total loser!".

I hid in my house for days a couple of times because of the fool I've made of myself. A couple years ago, I threw a party at my house, and a lot of people stayed the night. When I woke up I had a lot of guys sitting on the floor in my room. When I sat up I immediately felt a ache in my face and my first thought was..."OKAY, who the hell beat me up??" I had a split, fat lip, a black eye, and a scrape acrossed my cheek. My friend told me I was so drunk I fell asleep on the toilet and they had to carry me to bed, and I fell sideways and swiped my face acrossed me bedside table. I was humiliated. I looked like a monster.
Then, not too long after that, I guess I got so drunk at a party that I made out with several guys in the same night, and didn't remember it the next day. The next day, people were like, "Oh man, do you remember what you did last night?" I never want to hear those words again. Ever since that little binge I have cut down considerably on my drinking.

In the infinite words of Peter Griffin 'Let's drink til we can't feel feelings anymore!'.
Or Drinky Crow 'Being drunk is the worst feeling of all, except for all those other feelings.'

In all seriousness though, it depends on who I'm with, where I am, and if I have work in the morning. Take this coming weekend for example, Friday night I'm invited to a party where I'll probably have 2 or 3 and then call it a night because I have work in the morning, whereas Saturday I'll get off work by 5 and I'll start drinking and grilling with some friends where I will get good and beligerent (Probably spelled wrong I know, but its late gimme a break).

I'm not much of a drinker myself, and always make sure I don't get drunk on the semi-rare occasions I decide to drink. I prefer to be in conscious control of my thoughts and actions.

I've had a lot of experience in being around and taking care of drunken friends, though. It gets a bit old after a while, but sometimes the funny things they do and say makes up for it. The worst is when a completely drunk boyfriend tries to get lucky even though he can't remain vertical by himself (although I must say there is something humorous in the attempt).

I generally stop once I start to get a buzz.. and I let that ride for a bit and see if I feel OK enough to have another drink. But, I can be pretty honest with myself about it. In fact it's been a really long time since I can say that I let myself get what I consider to be drunk.

But, I only have a drink every month or two.

Hmmmm. I usually stop after I've spent whatever limit I've set myself for the night, or when whatever I'm drinking stops going down well.

Although on more than one occasion I haven't stopped drinking until I've been very, very drunk, done something very, very stupid and had time to reflect on how stupid that was and decided I might call it a night.

Well, I drink at home, so I stop whenever I fall asleep. Only once have I fallen asleep without planning it. It involved a couple people hauling me upstairs to my bed. I have a very high genetic tolerance for alcohol, so I'm also an expensive drunk (~12 shots, my stomach doesn't like beer).

Luckily, to this day, I have never gotten sick or had a normal hangover. I do hydrate constantly while drinking though.
