What is the status quo on drinking? do you find it unattractive if a person is "too" drunk? I personally stop at about 4 beers, because I don't like to get to the point in which I cannot control my actions.
...and 4 beers is that point? Really? My infant niece can probably pound a six pack and still drive.

Personally, if I'm gonna bother with booze at all, It's all or nothin. I don't drink unless I plan on throwing caution to the wind and waking up in the bed of a strange female that I didn't remember meeting. It's the only way to fly.
Thats kind of an immature way of thinking. Yes I can drink a six pack (16oz, 8 reg. beers) myself and have many times. My point is is you set your limit low, your tolerance will lower also. Less money spent, less alcohol wasted when your already tipsy, less regrets, etc. Unless your one of those people who have no regrets, nope, I wouldn't believe it. The road to alcoholism/std/regret/brokeness is not something I want to see.
Because on the rare occasions that I choose to drink alcohol, I decide to get drunk, I'm immature...mmmhmmm. I haven't been to a bar, or consumed in alcohol in, I guess it has to be close to 6 months. I don't know for sure because it's been a LONG TIME. So when I decide to actually do the deed, I make sure it sticks, and I make sure that I'm having fun. And on the rare occasion I do go out, people are pumped enough to see me that I normally don't pay for many of my own drinks. And seeing as this is how I enjoy playing the alcohol game, I can safely say no regrets. The only one I can't nail back in your little four word slash fest is the STD. What can I say? Sometimes you roll the dice. So tell me how the way I do it is "Immature"? Did I ever suggest to you that you had to go on a bender every time you choose to partake? No. I said that four beers is an amazingly low amount of beer to claim to even get tipsy on, then I went on about my method for the drink. I know and expect the consequences of my actions. I'm not yet a married/family man, so I don't hold a lot of responsibility to not go out and enjoy myself that way. I'm still quite young. And like I said, it's a rare occasion that I even choose to drink. If I'm immature, then I feel fairly confident that the world is screwed, because most in my generation are much worse.
My advice? Don't get uppity when a complete stranger makes a small jab about your drinking habits. It wasn't meant to offend. I wrote two sentences pertaining to you, and I didn't feel either of them were that harsh. If you did, then sorry. Again, not my intent.

Making something out of nothing is better than making nothin out of somethin.
I'm 5ft tall and weigh about 85 lbs. I can't drink as much as your average sized male. Your drinking habits are yours to enjoy and I don't care how you drink. I just hope you don't drive home with the girl you picked up on the "few" nights you choose to drink. THAT, would be class A immaturity my friend.

...Why would you even tag those last two sentences on? That's a statement made to infer to other readers that those are the habits of all people who partake in a night out. Don't turn yourself into the forum D.A.R.E. officer, man. You're making yourself look like a douche. No. I don't drink and drive under any circumstance.

I drink casually, just a few cups a night (on the nights I do). I don't drink "for fun" which is rather stupid, I just drink the things that taste good to me. I hate beer, but I love irish cream, Fernet, Gancia and lemoncello.

(and to those saying: When I pass out I've just had enough, or "until I vomit twice" you're just making yourselves look like pricks)

Usually about two shots of the hard stuff, because I'll usually mix it with crushed-up antidepressants.

It's a special kind of drunk; a lot like kicking the chocks that keep your mind in place out from under your brain's wheels.

I'm a lightweight, so I usually feel adequately inebriated after about 3 pints of cider, and yet also full, so I can't drink any more.
I dunno, I guess the "I'm too drunk to notice" line comes after the "Oh god no more, let it settle, settle!" line, for me.

Also, to all these people saying they normally have 8-10 drinks a night. Is that in pints!?
That works out to ~4-5Litres of drink!

Thats some wonderful information. Our roads are safer, most definitely. First of all I am a girl, therefore I am not a douche. Secondly I wasn't implying that everyone drinks and drives. It's a touchy subject with me because I got hit by a drunk driver and got 4 broken ribs and a punctured lung, and right leg was broken. Everytime I go out I see someone who shouldn't be driving get into their car. Just saying it happens. You surely didn't care about the other consequences of getting plastered (your first post) so why wouldn't you care about drinking & drive? Honestly. Conversation over. dick.

I'm not a heavy drinker. I try to get a bit of a buzz then I back off the sauce. My old room mate wasn't usually a heavy drinker, but sometimes (okay, twice) he'd wind up lying on the floor of the common washroom, in a pool of his own vomit, with his pants around his ankles and a heart drawn on his thigh. I... I don't ask questions.

I don't drink so I haven't had this problem yet. I guess for me would be when I realize I'm not in the TARDIS but a normal phone booth and that knocking sound isn't cybermen trying to break in but the local police officers annoyed by my antics.

For me, it's not how much I drink, but who I drink with. When I drink with people I trust, there is no limit. When it's at the frat house, I take care.

When I'm offered a drink. I can't stand drinking alcohol, it feels a little bit too close to drinking gasoline or ink. I'll just go smoke a joint instead thank you very much.

2 options... for me... when i start quoting capt jack sparrow on the dissapearance of the rum. or when i stop standing up whenever i laugh... usually they start at about the same time... to give ya a good idea of what i mean... one day I started drinking some rum+cokes and well simpley put i went through half a "40" of captain morgan's dark rum in about 10 minutes... of course i do a rum+coke pirate style a 90/10 rum/coke ratio the coke is just for a bit of flavouring :D... of course I finished that bottle and moved on to my neighbours rum and a few beers... and a 26er of fireball... and a shot of scotch... and 3 coolers... damn camping is fun :D
