I refuse to actually classify anyone as a hardcore gamer though, the entire premise is retarded at best, and can go away along with fanboyism and leet speak. Whatever happened to just classifying yourself as a gamer, why did these past few generations of gamers start thinking they were better than everyone else because they can play FPS's?

I guess the term hardcore could mean "really good at games" and so, you can consider yourself "really good at games" when you can pass the majority of them on the hardest difficulty setting.....or be nude while you play...whichever.

Does just lounging in boxers count? That is how I spend about 3 hrs every night playing COD 4 or COD:W@W.

I wouldn't consider myself a hardcore gamer, but between those two games I have a tendency to do really well. So long as am not on the phone or talking to people online and trying to play at the same time I am normally the top scoring player, or minimally in the top 3. When playing with 2 of my friends we normally take the top 3 scores every time. However, I still wouldn't call myself a hardcore gamer, just someone who's good at COD games.
