I just saw a live action ad on TV for Halo:Reach Beta.....Beta??

Since when do Beta apps need a TV ad, I'm surprised they didn't pull this during the super bowl.

I mean the game isn't going to come out for months, this kinda reminds me when Cliffy B appeared on Jimmy Fallon to announce Gears3, and Fallon asked wtf was he doing there so soon when he found out the game won't come out for another year.

Great, I can see I'm not going to get a moments rest without this game being jammed down my throat at every turn....-_-

Not trying to sound like a fan boy, but they are just letting the population know about the game. The Beta is basically an advertisement. But what did you expect from the same series that brought you Halo 3 Mtn Dew?

It's Halo. There's a picture of Master Chief next to the definition for hype.

I'm disappointed that a series can be so accepted that they can pull that kind of shit, bur not surprised.

.... okay?

Its a popular game, and lots of its players probably aren't hardcore forum going gamers, so it only makes the most sense that they try to reach everyone.

Also, you could look away from the screen, willpower is a wonderful thing.

That was for the game? I thought it was for a movie and I was like, Halo Reach a movie? Already? I fast forwarded. Now I need to rewind to check that out...

Holy crap! That's kind of nuts.

Kind of off topic...Are you watching V by any chance?

I guess the regular Halo audience can't read so it needs commercials on TV to tell them when it comes out.

Yeah V seems nice.

What do you mean will power?

This isn't about temptation, unlike Gear I care less about Halo:reach, and I'm really not looking forward to hearing about it at every turn for the next couple months...><

Well, then you can ignore it. That's what the willpower is for. You don't have to pay attention to the ads, you don't have to think about the game.

I don't see how this is any different than when anything else gaming or non gaming comes out. If you're not a baseball fan, you don't have to pay attention to the World Series commercials or news or such.

If you see a thread on it, avoid it. If the ad plays on tv, switch the channel. That takes a lot less effort than complaining about it.

I like the trailer, showed a bit more how the spartan III's were injected with some steriod like stuff (cant seem to remember) that gave them adult like bodies but are only around the ages of 12 and such.

I know, because then I have to hear from all the fanboys of how there's nothing wrong with it.

But.... there is nothing wrong with it.

I mean, it may be annoying to you, but that doesn't make it wrong.

Plus, this happens all the time with every new popular videogames.

Yeah, so why is there something supposedly wrong with criticizing it?

I'm criticizing the fact that they would make a live action TV ad for a Beta app, it's like the last straw that breaks the camels back, it's going too far, and I'm criticizing the fact they're doing so.

This is my POV....and I really don't like it...>=/

Okay, that's not what I'm saying.

You may feel like the live action show is bad itself, but once you hate it for simply existing than you're no better than the fanboys who you're annoyed by.

EDIT: You can hate it all you want, but hating it "because its for a beta" seems like a petty reason to hate it.

So your reaction and subsequent creation of this thread is based on the fact that it's Halo.
Everyone is still riding the hate wagon I see.

It's just a form of advertising, who cares what game it is. Infact I'm glad it is advertised as it means that some games are going to be reaching a larger audience. That video games have come far in todays society.
Try taking of those jaded glasses you're wearing and see the good in it.
